  1. At one point rainfall rate was 2" hour. Seemed like some training action developed over the beltway. Picked up 1.3" in about an hour ttl.
  2. Nice wind, T&L show. Didn't seem like that much rain, but still coming down lightly. Will report on totals later.
  3. Maybe just CYA. A lot of people out and about, BBQs, July 4th etc.
  4. picked up a quick .22" in about 15 minutes in S Arlington. Cell just blew up inside the beltway.
  5. https://tenor.com/view/jedi-starwars-mind-trick-obiwan-gif-5199308
  6. This the kind of rain that helps in times of a moderate drought. Slow steady that doesn't flood people out. Stretching over several days.
  7. Gauge says .52" with probably a little more before this ends. Might be able to salvage the afternoon hours.
  8. A nice little cell swept by us. about .55" in half an hour. My lawn appreciates it.
  9. Does first frost kill mosquitos? Can't remember.
  10. Euro has us getting a little over 2" for us through Monday (entire rain event). GFS slightly under that. If it's spread out over the entire time, should be a nice soaker.
  11. Me, too. Got .93 in 20 minutes. That's 3"/hr roughly. Luckily it only lasted for 20 mins. Did anyone call this?
  12. I got 2.99 overnight. I think DCA got 4". It's been so dry that my lawn soaked it all up. Nary a stream by the storm drain by the side of my house.
  13. I can't really remember storms training down directly North to South.
  14. DC rain shield? This storm coming in from the west looks like it is touching the beltway and doing straight down, southward turn.
  15. Picked up a quick .24 in about 20 minutes here in S. Arlington. Getting sunlight now so maybe more firing up?
  16. Before we plan on Sunday, some sunshine peeking through, which could fuel the storms later tonight.
  17. 68 degrees and pretty decent rain showers. If it continues like this, the hyped up line of storms won't happen.
  18. ICON always blows when it does rain.
  19. Good morning Mid Atlantic weather crew! Picked up .81" in about 45 mins.
  20. NAM has DC getting 1.29" before 7am tomorrow.
  21. I can verify that I've gotten 1.30" in about 30 minutes. Still going, but intensity lessened. Wow!
  22. I'm at 1.54 since this early morning and this afternoon. The early morning was more lightning and thunder and .16 of rain. Some periods of rain throughout the day. However, at about 6;15pm i got .40 in about 10 minutes. It was pretty fierce. It kinda let up to more moderate rain after that, but water was lapping up at the side of my house. That .40 would have translated to 2.40" of rain/hour if it continued.
  23. 2.28 for National 2.42 for me in this past storm.
  24. NAM has DC proper getting 4.44 through 1pm tomorrow. Wowsa.
  25. An observation on the FF Warning that was issued last night/early morning. I don't think I've ever seen them issue a warning for NW Arlington. Here in Arlington we only have North and South Arlington (S. Arlington represent!). They may have even called it "northwestern Arlington".
