  1. Rainbow and sunset after the line went through. I think we got .16"
  2. The last real summer, no-rain drought was 2011, if i remember correctly.
  3. I grew up in Laredo, TX and this is just your basic summer. Think of a mini Houston with some dry heat days from the Chihuahua desert to give you variety! Also, worked for a company from El Paso (more dry heat). I did business trips there in the summer. Can say that was the only city where you would cross the roadway and slightly sinking into the spongy asphalt (walking).
  4. Loving this weather. Got a new A/C 1 or 2 years ago. Keeping up really well with these high humid days. No afternoon thunderstorm threats. Taking my walks when the sun goes down. Eating ice cream outside...
  5. You can always tell the transplants from Buffalo and northern parts about now. They drive around with their windows down and big smiles on their faces.
  6. Looking NE from the Pentagon Sheraton.
  7. Threat of storm activity this afternoon has been diminished. At least inside the beltway. May be able to get a walk or a bike ride in.
  8. I gotta say: I told you so! Take your umbrellas tomorrow everyone.
  9. Grrr. No rain measurements at DCA.
  10. Can I hold you to that spectacular prediction? I remember looking this past weekend and it was gonna be spectacular today and yesterday.
  11. Line last night got me .18. It was supposed to be high pressure this week, but t-storms tomorrow and showers Wednesday means that cloudy all week with showers for all!
  12. That line had some impressive an yellow and orange front line that seems to be dissipating.
  13. Kinda steamy out there right now. dewpoint is 67.
  14. Rain clouds moving at a good clip according to radar, but there is no wind to speak of at ground level. It's like the Bermuda triangle out there.
  15. Can you tell me the procedure for rescuing these? I've wanted to do this, but not sure where to put them. If I put them on the road, I'm afraid they'd get run over.
  16. My gauge read 1.06 this morning. Looking outside it may have been absorbed quickly. Doesn't look like 1". Either that or the squirrels have been taping on my station outside.
  17. Before someone cries: Drought! I see mainly non-precip days in the near future. I like it!
  18. Anyone foresee any problems with a flight out of National tonight at 8?
  19. PM'd you on this. TL;DR: TBH, IMHO, IDK and RN.
  20. With the low temps predicted, this won't "pop". Just generalized slow soakers. South may be where the action is.
  21. My observations: It just looked like it was one rickety bridge. Went down easy. Can't believe they got it on video. I think I read that the captain of the boat knew that is was out of power and hard to control with plenty of minutes before impact. Why not drop the anchor?
  22. I remember a few years ago we had this kind of warm-up in January. You run or bike under those road underpasses and it's cold for one brief moment. It's like the cold is hiding and planning its comeback.
  23. I hope it's 1". All the models I saw last night had this event approaching 2".
  24. Rain/snow dome is full effect inside the beltway.
