  1. 96/36 HI 99 Wind NE 13 broken cloud cover
  2. 93/44 HI 97 wind NE 11 11:30 AM We're off and running, folks. Definitely more humid than yesterday. Some clouds but brightening up.
  3. This is nuts...101 on my front patio with solar curtains closed! Of course I have the worst exposure for heat events, facing south/west. Fortunately I'm able to crack the blinds on the north side away from direct heat and sun. Thermostat at 77, air temp up top at 85...yuck. Tolerable if you don't move around too much and drink ice water. Ceiling fans on. Basement of course much cooler at 76. Minimum temps tonight are going to be a mess.
  4. It's so hot the local news channels in DC are still reporting 98 or 99 degrees (take your pick). Must've had a blowout. 100/36 HI 106 but what's the diffference at this point. Roast is roast.
  5. 99/36 HI 104 lower humidity is the only saving grace. Still, it's like baking biscuits out there.
  6. Now 98/40 HI 105 blazing sun rollin' on...
  7. Temps keep going up as I post, lol. "Cold" water in pipes now warm.
  8. 95/45 (temp went up another degree while I was posting!) HI 102 at 12:45pm might be a record day
  9. Temps climbing rapidly in past hour and a half...5 degrees 89/50H HI 93 at 10 AM Guess I'll be cooking eggs on the driveway...
  10. 94/41 at 6pm DP 64 HI holding at 98. Must be rooks talking about the weather on the news. They act like the DMV doesn't know what a hot summer is. Either that or they aren't from around here.
  11. 92/49H/63DP in sunny SE HI 98 at 1:30pm Let's get the party started!
  12. 76/49 getting sticky...humidity up 6 ticks since 9:30pm
  13. 91/64DP in Dupont Park/Hillcrest, 4pm. Humidity up three ticks in the last hour.
  14. Sunny, cold and WINDY. Crazy gusts beating against the walls. 43 degrees.
  15. Depression over cold water? Nah...I can get a glass of that in my kitchen with some ice!
  16. Y'all could've trimmed this by 100 posts if you'd just listen to Phil and his predictor. He said early spring but NOOOO everyone tracks patterns, agonizes over climate changes and posts historical data and analysis. Tsk tsk.
  17. Pass the salt, please. With a side of pickles and a glass vinegar on ice. Yum!
  18. What's also cool is if you stand at where old Barney Circle was before crossing the Sousa bridge looking across the Anacostia river the entire horizon is elevation that goes up, from Deanwood NE down 295 South to the Naval Base! The whole area leading right into Maryland. Once called "far SE".
  19. Potato dust. *yawns* Eh, I'm ready to chuck the models and just look out the window at this point. Another cautionary tale of getting too emotional about snow. Enjoy it when it happens and if it doesn't...go find something else to do. Weather patterns don't have joy or sadness. Snow lovers are getting conditional (and desperate) in their demands about type of snow, duration, etc. You get what you get! Chaos rules and we've become tools. Besides, Phil said it all at a press conference. No shadow!
