  1. If Aurora can hit the 8" mark from this somehow it can rain on Friday all it wants to.
  2. If we could trend this thing just a few counties farther south, I'll sell myself to mother nature
  3. GFS actually weakened the low somewhat, stops the westward trend a little at least.
  4. Still our biggest event of the season with ease.
  5. I'm not even talking about getting into that shmexy pink swath, but surely laying down even a couple inches of snow in LOT would help with temperatures for wave II right?
  6. At this juncture, as long as the snow isn't suggested to fall in msp, I could honestly not care less about the westward trend continuing for another day. In fact, it might be a good thing. Rather have it like this than our dumb asses locking a storm in five days out only for it to trend back to Ohio again or something. We always knew we were gonna have to fight for this one tooth and nail so let's show some spirit
  7. There's actually been a lot of concurrence between the ICON, GFS, and CMC so far tonight. What I don't like now tho is that they all show a relatively narrow band of snow with the second low and a lot of energy streaming by. Yeah Chicago is in the right area perhaps to get some snow, but once again we went from forecasting a swath the size of two states to one that's maybe 100 miles wide tops. Would like to see things look a bit... more widespread in future runs
  8. Yeah. I don't want to jump the gun, but I guess what it comes down to now is weather we might get some snow, or the whopping that the GFS shows to our east (and the GEM to our west). The GEFS has some strong members but lots of meh ones too. Of course, I'll take anything but let's be real here... We're in it to win it.
  9. I'm talking strictly about the secondary lows. Honestly, even I with my boundless optimism realize that chances are we won't manage much from low #1 -if anything- but as long as low #2 steals the show, that's okay with me
  10. I don't wanna get bitten in the ass for saying this, but I think if we can find a happy middle ground between GFS and CMC, we'll have our first real storm of the year here in N IL.
  11. The NAM was the same model that gave us Chicagoans hope for Christmas. I'm honestly happy that it ISN'T showing snow here yet.
  12. I'm just glad that for once we have more than a wild goose chase to track. Cherish it while you can guys
  13. The question now is whether or not we can extract a locally viable solution, or if the models keep evolving into a whole different direction.
  14. Again FWIW, a decent number of GEFS members show some sort of secondary low action. Definitely a noticeable change from earlier.
  15. FWIW, the ICON has a sort of similar evolution to the GEM.
  16. I take comfort in the fact that even if it rains here, at least someone is gonna have a good time. Not that I necessarily think it's gonna be just rain In N IL, but...
  17. You have to will the storm into staying all snow
  18. I'll take the CMC and run with it. I'll bet my butt that they'll all cave south within fifty hours
  19. I know everyone loves to piss and moan, because I'm right there with you guys, but we all know damn well that there's absolutely no telling what could happen with this storm. I wouldn't be surprised if the track shifts a thousand miles either way. Remember, the first storm in Ohio this season was originally forecast to be a two-footer for North Dakota. Just sayin.
  20. As a German, I was only half joking about the ICON. Every time it gets trash talked I die a little bit more inside.
  21. The ICON is living proof that Germans do everything better.
