  1. Butternut is a great area for beginners. Gentle slopes and they do a great job with making high quality snow. There grooming is also impeccable. Great Barrington is also a great town right down the road. .
  2. Stratton was great today. Super silky packed powder. Absolutely gorgeous. The top was bluebird sun all day with a gorgeous cloud deck below. Glades were sweet. Conditions reminded me of when I was in Steamboat. Awesome, soft medium sized bumps. Just delicious. .
  3. Cool. Thanks for the advice. I think the rain will just at to the density of the pack.....especially with the ice at the start. Doesn't look like a ton of rain. Probably some good compaction though.
  4. Went to Gore last weekend and used a free ticket. It was pretty good. Some glades were open and were nice. Lots of trails up top were open with natural snow, but coverage was iffy in spots. Rocks here and there. Cruisers were in good shape. Was deciding between Bromley, Stratton and Magic tomorrow. Going by myself so trying to shorten my drive from Albany. Bromley is $44 if you buy online and looks to be fully open! They report 53" for the season. Magic looks to have everything open and would be $61. They report 43" for the season. Tomorrow is a ski club discount day at Stratton so it would be $47 for me. They report only 39" for the season. 14" less than Bromley which is just a few miles down the road? I've been to Magic and Bromley a lot lately, but haven't skied Stratton since the 80's lol. I thought it might be a good time to check it out since it's cheap tomorrow and hopefully the winter crowds aren't there yet? They seem to be like 1/2 open but conditions look pretty epic and they have glades open. Any thoughts would be appreciated......and if anyone wants to meet up, LMK. First world dilemma lol.
  5. Measured 1.75" this morning at about 7:00 am. Never got below 33F. Probably another inch or so after that, so close to 3"? Stuck to everything. Very wet and sloppy. Definitely over performed down here in the valley. I'm at 225' and it looks like only about 3-4" up on the hill (over 1000').
  6. 35.2F/33F here with rain and some flakes starting to mix in. Started at 39F/33F so we're getting there. Hoping for 3 or 4".
  7. 6” here in Albany. Cleared 4.25” of snow off of the board around 11:30 pm before I went to bed. 1.75 inches of sleet and snow mixed on the board this morning. Cleared the board this morning and decent snow moving back in. Hopefully we hit 8”. Beautiful out there! .
  8. 5” here and the dry slot has arrived. Need that deform pivot in the morning for a snow day. Otherwise a delay should do it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. 2.5” here in Albany area. Steady moderate snow with decent snow growth. 25F/23F. Fantastic! .
  10. Cautiously excited here in Albany area. Looking forward to the front end thump during awake hours. Probably light mix after midnight and then a quick Friday morning burst with the deformation band pivoting thru. Hoping for 6”. November bonus!!! .
  11. Albany almost never gets over 20". We seem to often hit an 18" wall with the "big storms." We average a 20"+ storm about every 14 years. You guys closer to the coast get some rocking storms! I'm just hoping for 6"+ here. Often with these SNE jackpot storms we get shafted. Hopefully we don't get subsidence city from a death band to our east. Spread the wealth.........but whatever happens, it is what is is.
  12. 18F with sleet here. Precip is light. When it picks up, flakes mix in. I think we have about 2".
