  1. Another weekend of 0.01” of precipitation in Minneapolis.
  2. We are putting 1988 to shame.
  3. Setting the wrong records this summer. Next up, driest June on record. June 1988 had a paltry 0.22” of precipitation, we are at 0.09” as of 6/15.
  4. AQI up to 243 locally. I’ve never seen it above 180 until today. Scary stuff
  5. Getting seriously worried about mature trees if that pans out. 3 summers in a row of this can’t be good at all.
  6. It’s as bad as I’ve ever experienced today. Very strong smell of smoke and I’ve got a slight headache from working outside in this. Currently 84 with 3 miles visibility due to smoke/haze.
  7. Dense smoke this morning. Pretty strong stench outside. Should keep us from achieving 90 today.
  8. 0.26” of precipitation in Minneapolis since May 15th. May precipitation was only 30% of average. Things are getting bad quickly here.
  9. High of 88 in Minneapolis today, the only saving grace was the mid 40s dews. Roadside grass has that autumn golden hue to it.
  10. Maybe for you guys further east but we are roasting west of the 90th meridian.
  11. Can we just nudge these cutoffs lows a bit to the west. Sitting at 82 and bone dry again this afternoon. Less then 0.10” month to date and 85-90 is a lock for the next week.
  12. Pretty close to a whiff on the rains here with todays cold front. Only 0.05” fell. Up to 0.08” month to date. A nice line of showers got its act together across the south metro….go figure.
  13. It’s been unpleasant working outside. Luckily so far we haven’t had the extreme 70+ dews like last summer. I’m already over this crap, and ready for coastal ridges and central CONUS troughs.
  14. Dropped down to 61 last night. I love these low dews. We’ve only picked up 0.03” of rain in June. It’s getting crispy out here.
  15. Might head up to either Gooseberry or Split Rock this weekend. Dews have finally dropped into the mid 50s here which is a big relief.
  16. Overnight low of 66, which is the coldest it’s gotten in June here. No open windows in our household.
  17. Off to a hot start of summer in Minneapolis. 3rd most 90s through June 5th
  18. The city of Bloomington dumps snow in a field by my office. This pile is remarkably still hanging on. 84/61 currently under cloudy and smoky skies.
  19. Another afternoon in Minneapolis where we have eclipsed 90F.
  20. Up to 90 currently in Minneapolis this afternoon.
  21. Might just need to plant California Fan Palms.
  22. Trollhaugen in Dresser WI saves a pile of snow under straw and tarps all summer for an early October event each year. I’m always surprised they are able to save anything.
  23. There was a single 5min obs of 69F which will be the official overnight low for Minneapolis. Coldest temp of the month.
  24. Lots of scattered convection in the area kept the temps down and we only managed a high of 88 today. Did pick up 0.04” of rain!
