    We are currently at the second lowest area of sea ice at this date. Almost 1/2 of where it used to be. Crazy to think about that.

    Yeah there is zero chance the temps at KBUF are that warm those 2 nights...got down to 42 at KBUF this morning and my backyard was 40.9...

    Yeah it keeps looking colder and colder for next weekend. I agree with you about the next 3 month's temps. I do like however that the season's are behaving as they should. Hopefully as you mentioned it's not too much of a good thing.

    I wouldn't be surprised at all to see an early change over in all locations. The trees were stressed this year and have begun to show some signs of change in my neighborhood. The temps are going to crash later this week and that will help to preempt that changeover

    So I believe, if memory serves me, August finished about 3.5° above average...that seemed to be about the difference on most days from weather reporting sites around KBUF...that basically puts August at a wash in the temperature department...i would also assume that July wasn't the record breaker we thought.

    Anyone notice the temps late week? It will struggle to hit 60...at lower elevations by Friday with low 4p's on the lake plains...first frost for the interior Valley's?

    It's crazy how fast we seemed to have flipped the switch so to say. I like the way the next few weeks are trending.

    The next 15 look more like mid fall in the Adirondacks than mid September. The point and click for Placid is upper 50's next week and many nights in the mid 30's!

    Good mention. It was surprisingly windy yesterday morning especially and I really don't recall and mention if advisory type gusts.

    I knew something was amiss...i live close enough to question that daily. It's more difficult when it's hot but when you're seeing temps 5 to 8 different when it's cool then there's an issue. Great work everyone!

    Right but that's looking to be in question. These readings this week certainly are in question. That site is the warmest around and it's not even close. And I do remember the lake reading temp issue...im betting if this was looked into we'd hear if a calibration issue as well. I can't believe they haven't noticed this.

    I'd love to hear some feedback on this. In all seriousness it is making the reported temps much higher than they are. If this is true we may not have been a full 3 degrees above normal for August.

    Ok so it's happened again..kbuf is reporting 62 and every site around is 7 to 9 degrees colder...even Dunkirk right on the lake is 57...something is wrong with the instrument
