    Just saw something I can’t really remember. Being the junkie that I am, I was perusing my 10 day outlook on TWC, you know like one would read the farmers almanac, but something caught my eye. The normally Blaise forecast, which is also wildly wrong normally, read this for next Monday and Tuesday...watching a potential winter storm...I don’t think I’ve ever read that so far in advance. My long winded (text) point is this thing has a chance to be huge, no matter what one run shows.

    IF, big if, the models and all the Mets are right, there’s a damn good chance 95% of NY state has 20”+ by mid next week. That, around here, is deep winter

    I have been a skier since learning in my very early 20’s. I did dabble with snowboarding but I prefer skiing as well. I don’t have much time to hit the slopes anymore, however, I may have piqued my two oldest ones interest to have them take lessons

    The GFS had Saturday night-Sunday as a cutter at one point as well...

    Even the lake effect lovers at KBUF have that storm on their radar. This must have some legs...oh and they did say several inches for the Saturday night-Sunday timeframe but said it should fall short of warning criteria...they mentioned the Tuesday storm as “shovelable”...I guess 5 or so inches isn’t worth it...

    So early in the season the models over estimated the confluence and now they’re under estimating the confluence...makes total sense

    I cleared the snow from my pool cover the other day with my two oldest thinking we’d be getting a lot more snow over the next week, and we may or may not, but to my surprise was how frozen the water UNDER the pool cover was!

    The Saturday-Sunday storm was also a big dog a few days ago, now it’s a chihuahua puppy...

    All of upstate New York is under deep winter...hopefully the winter express has a lot of diesel left in the tank for a nice run right up to March 21st, then spring ahead!

    Crazy to think with the mild December and most of January we might receive a 90% freeze of the lake

    Euro has been pretty much trash lately... edit...it has the same storm 2 days later...as normal GFS is faster and Euro is slower

    I actually didn’t mean it in a nasty way, although I’m always up for a good trucking once in a while, I meant it as you retreat to another state to hex their winters, that’s all!!!

    Just heard Mike C on WIVB state the lake is 46% frozen. Should be 70% by the weekend

    By all accounts we could be around -4 or -5 by months end

    Could we get to 5” today? I’m also at 3.2”...my guess is just shy but these ratios have the Mets confused. 4 to 4.5 is likely and I noticed the NWS did up the aerial amount to 2-4”
