  1. Straight off the news channels...all local stations reported the amounts we repeated.
  2. I couldn't believe the flooding where Katie Alexander was reporting in front of 5 guys on the Blvd...it was so deep at one point water was clearing the median...unreal rainfall amounts in such a short period
  3. Lmao buffalo crew!!! Almost 5" of rain in the Kenmore and amherst with several major roadways closed including parts of the 190 and the 90 and no mention of it? I mean if this isn't the poster child for where did this come from I'm not sure what is!
  4. I guess I should have backed up...summers have gone well into fall and winters have gone well into spring...we basically had no spring this year and has been as such for few years now.
  5. That is definitely one thing that we do not have much of anymore...seasons in seasons...this summer has been an exception and maybe winter will act similarly.
  6. There's been some chatter that the early indications are more of the same with high latitude blocking over Greenland to continue for several months...it might just be why some are indication a colder than average October and near to slightly below November.
  7. I noticed a certain outlet that was once serious about weather (kinda like when a certain station was serious about music videos) put out a Sept to Nov temp outlook and it is suggesting BN overall during the 3 mos...Sept above, Oct below and Nov below or normal. I'm intrigued by this what would be quite a pattern shift to a western Ridge eastern trough...ive also noticed that we are heading to a neutral ENSO for winter to possibly a weak La Nina. It's early but I like some of the indications for late fall heading into winter.
  8. That looks like the tidal wave from the movie day after tomorrow!
  9. Im with Wolfie! Im certain my wife is part amphibian as she's in her glory at 90 degree weather and im melting like ice cream on a hot plate. It has been perfect weather the past 3 or 4 days with temps in the upper 70's to low 80's and nighttime lows in the mid to upper 50's. After our next 7 to 10 days I do foresee another warm up but at that time were heading into the second half of August and days ate already getting shorter. Did I see the chance for LER by the way???
  10. Frig wegmans had Sam Adams Octoberfest beer LAST WEEK on the shelves!!! I will say though I think we may have seen our hot stretch of the summer, CPC is showing a decent chance in the 8 to 14 for BN temps for pretty much the northern half of the US. Then the 3 to 4 week is average and at that time we slip into the mid to upper 70's. Warm days are ahead for sure but we can leave the humidity in the tropics where it belongs
  11. Of much more important concern is the excessive heat watch just posted for Niagara, Orleans and Monroe Co's Friday and Saturday. My oldest has a soccer tournament in Brockport Saturday and Sunday, however we *SHOULD* escape the worst of the heat as his games Saturday are 9:30 and noon.
  12. Well except for tomorrow and Sunday yes largely low to mid 80's!!! Enjoy...it gets any hotter than that and I might spontaneously combust.
  13. Sadly that should have been our winter...the ingredients were there but El Nino decided to crash the party...
  14. I had a chance to read the link BW attached regarding the winter roundup...i particularly want to point out the part where they stated: having said that the ENSO event was just strong enough to keep us from having a memorable season...i think we all knew that was a possibility with a lot of analogs comparing to '76-'77.
  15. Have you witnessed the CPC outlooks all the way through early July??? That's a lot of Blue...
