  1. 3kNAM suggests the possibility of two rounds of storms tomorrow. NYC gets slammed with bow echo
  2. Also we just got upgraded to slight risk!
  3. quick question for a non-met: how do strong midlevel winds help to organize storms? I can visualize how intuitively but I don't really know the mechanics
  4. Tomorrow probably not worth a thread right? As far as I can tell, there isn't much of a triggering mechanism or shear, even though we won't want for instability
  5. I'm not sure how rare this is, but check out this line of storms over the Hudson Bay! Would make sense considering the massive heat the NW has seen for things to push north
  6. We actually had a pretty good storm exactly 2 years ago from yesterday if I recall correctly. Late June is anecdotally a pretty "active" period for us (if you can call this active)
  7. Pretty decent light show up in these parts too
  8. we keep touching the stove and getting burned. such is severe wx in New England
  9. old location getting more action than we got... lol
  10. Dust flying around like its the desert southwest
  11. hopefully we can get some "training" later on
  12. dewpoint pooling? interesting, didnt know that was a thing
  13. Think we'll need all the instability we can amass here in SNE during peak heating since best forcing seems to be NNE until the evening.
  14. MLCAPE values finally above 1500 for all of the region.
  15. its SNE though, so the most probable outcome is always a dud. Nevertheless, I can't remember the last time I was in an enhanced risk.
  16. I'd settle for a clearly visible CG at this point
  17. Maybe Tuesday is a better shot at some severe. Sigh
