Lol few hours earlier and we'd have no power right now , that was a baby compared to this. NJ...only place where you can get a f2 tornado in the middle of winter but a dying line in the dead of summer
-
Haven't seen such a well defined mcs in a long while, i for sure thought it'd be a tad bit stronger than this on arrival (mainly in terms of lightning)
-
Not too shabby. Impressive ctc and alright gusts fwiw
-
Lol it really did go poof I really didn't expect that
-
I don't see that line just going *poof* thing is booking it at 55mph. Hoping for a great lightning show at the very least.

Let's throw Forky and warlock into the corn fields of Iowa for a day , see how long they last

Outside of tropical systems, we had that squall that delivered widespread wind damage I think it was around late August of 2020. It's frustrating, you'd think with better moisture content and heat we'd be looking at better storms but it's been the complete opposite. I remember between 2005-2010, we would get these monster bow echo complexes that'd rip through the area well through the night... Doesn't happen anymore. My favorite squall line to this day, though not really severe occured June 1, 2006 which tracked southeast from the buffalo area. I've never seen lightning that frequent since

Ah well I'm sure we'll get a derecho come our next heat wave....in January
-
Tornado observed
-
You root for sweltering heat, whats the difference?
-
I miss the squall lines of yore
-
1500-2000 j/kg of cape, no cap, alright shear, decently timed cold front , no morning crapvection and that "line" is all we got? Lmao
-
Yeah that line got offended when I called it pathetic...could see it producing frequent lightning haha

Thursday, July 27, 2023 Severe Weather Potential

I wish I could like this twice -
Yeah now that the sun has set it's very tolerable outside, especially with the breeze. Sunday+ will feel like heaven. We need these heat waves with humidity so we can appreciate the cool dry weather that follows....enjoy the little things. Also what pathetic line....decaying shortwave , mediocre shear , knew today would be a dud despite the high cape. Saturday has me intrigued. Saturday always looked better than today but as always....timing timing timing which we haven't done good at lately. Nothing but decaying mcs out of the great lakes. We need an old fashioned eml

Lol sell the widespread big severe today. Buy the iso broken line of storms.
-
Agreed this summer hasn't been bad at all...minus the obvious dew increase , it's just a typical summer 3 day heat wave then boomers... rinse repeat
-
I saw lightning in Bayonne all the from that storm out over eastern long island...crazy
-
We've had thunderstorm chances for what seems like the last ten days..going on two weeks..it's obvious we're in a pattern conductive for convection. I think some of you forget how for the last two summers were basically bone dry. In a pattern like this , you'll get your rain unless you live on long island
-
Walking is terrible but it's not bad at all just sitting. Nice breeze too.
-
Wow tonight too...that storm is trying to bow out right now
-
This summer is going by at light speed it feels like...the fact it's already mid July is insane to me

It's not like we had Ida drop 8 inches of rain on us a couple of years ago... Missed another one by miles. Absolutely crazy how common these "1000" year events are becoming. -
Oops last I checked was last night...I stand corrected

L.I wasn't in the flood watch brotha lol
