  1. You're a true diehard. Once we get nice days like this, I don't even want to think about snow until November or December.
  2. You're not kidding. I had to pull over a couple of times on my way home. The rain was coming down so hard that you could hardly see in front of you and there was no way to tell which lane of traffic you were in. Vivid and frequent lightning also.
  3. I'm a bit surprised that 11 straight non-playoff seasons is a record for the NHL. I thought it would have been more for some reason. I guess I'm thinking about other sports where not as many teams make it and you can go a long time between postseason appearances even if you're decent. The NHL has always invited a lot of teams to the playoff party. In the Original Six era, 4 out of the 6 teams made it. 16 out of 21 made it from the early 80's (post WHA merger) until the league began expanding again in the early 90's. I think the Leafs made it one year in the 80's with almost 50 losses.
  4. Spring is a total waste around here weather-wise.
  5. I'm basically resigned to the weather being hot garbage around here until Memorial Day. Every year now...
  6. That's a rough one...and they were up by 16 in the first half. Great run for them but when you're that close, it hurts when you can't close the deal.
  7. Everything just seems so out of whack. Houses in my area that need a TON of work are going for $500-$600K. Sellers are getting 100k or more over their asking price. How long can that sustain itself?
  8. You're not kidding. It's really bad. We were spoiled having Brodeur all those years. Giving up weak goals is so deflating. The sad part is that their offense has been pretty good this season. You just can't win 6-5 or 7-6 every night.
  9. Big-time bragging rights for the Tar Hells. Beat Coach K in his final game at Cameron Indoor, now they send him into retirement in the Final Four.
  10. Excited for you guys. Now if only my Devils could get their act together. 15 goals allowed in two games. Just blew a four-goal lead on Saturday also. Oof.
  11. Sounds like we could get some decent rains later today and tonight.
  12. Some of them can't be helped or don't want to be helped. You look at the ones who have been in and out of jail their entire lives, arrested dozens of times for the same offense, etc. There comes a point where you have to assume that they simply don't give a damn. To be fair, there are people who might have screwed up once and could turn things around with a second chance. Do we make it too difficult for people to reacclimate to society after serving their sentence?
  13. How deep into the show did the Will Smith incident take place? I wonder if people rushed to tune in when word of that started going around on social media. I'm sure it helped the numbers at least somewhat.
  14. Exactly. The cold scored a garbage time touchdown on a great play but is still losing by a substantial margin.
  15. I think this is what the NCAA likes to see. Get some upsets in the earlier rounds but then still end up with Blue Bloods in the Final Four. UNC/Duke, Kansas/Villanova. The ratings should be excellent. Great run for St. Peter's. Looks like they just ran out of gas in the end. Sometimes those Cinderella runs end with a thud like we saw yesterday. Definitely got a lot of exposure for the school and it appears that Shaheen Holloway will have a shot at the Seton Hall job if he wants it.
  16. Hope so. It's frustrating when you have to wait for the nice weather in the spring, especially when we were teased with such a great day last Friday.
  17. Looks like we'll be stuck in a disgusting pattern for several weeks.
  18. Adams is a clown. Just a few days ago, he doubled down on the mandate and said that he wasn't concerned about athletes or fans.
  19. Bit of a bust on the rain so far. On 880 this morning, Craig Allen said it would start by lunchtime. Haven't seen a drop here yet. Dreary day in any case.
  20. The TV deals these leagues have now changed everything. The revenue streams they provide are unreal.
  21. My mother still talks about Easter Sunday 1970. Her relatives from the Jersey Shore area had to cancel their plans to travel north for the holiday. Think there was a good 6-8 inches of snow in North Jersey. By the next afternoon, it was gone.
  22. I guess they figure that they need to get it while they can. You're always one snap away from your career being over.
  23. What an insane offseason. I should have stuck with football lol. The money being thrown around just blows my mind. The NFL is a freaking gold mine.
  24. Lmao! I love the internet. Could be a good target for a young quarterback like Zach Wilson to have though. Of course, it could go the other way if Hill throws fits when he's not getting the ball. I'm going to need to buy one of those preview magazines this year to remind myself of everything that happened in the offseason. The draft is still a month away and we're still over five months from the regular season opening.
