  1. Sorry for your loss. Keep fighting and enjoying the things that bring you peace and happiness. Wishing you all the best.
  2. Agreed. They inevitably become corrupt and start to exploit people who have no choice but to bend to their will.
  3. Only 52 here. Thought we were pegged for a high in the low-mid 60's today. Guess the cloud cover is keeping the temps down.
  4. I'll take it. Not a fan of those delayed springs we've seen lately or those years where we just go right into the heat.
  5. Could be a whole new market for these gambling apps. Place a wager on the over/under for how many inches NYC gets next season.
  6. At least we got a little taste of what winter is like again before the end. Was nice to at least see the grass and trees covered yesterday when the snow began to stick. Rough season but hopefully we do better next year. I'm ready for spring now. Temps are going to feel good the next couple of days; upper 50's and maybe low 60's.
  7. Maybe we'll have another pre-Thanksgiving storm like in 2018.
  8. Shows how difficult it is to get snow to stick during the day this time of year.
  9. They're gonna suck us in again, aren't they?
  10. Can almost count the flurries. A total rain event in West Orange, New Jersey until about 90 minutes ago. Snow is not sticking right now. Shade above freezing at 33.
  11. Thanks! Still grasping the details of these storms.
  12. Is it me or does this thing not even look that impressive on radar?
  13. Safe to declare winter over? My forecast shows 55 by Thursday, then high's consistently in the upper 40's to low 50's through early April. I don't see how we get any snowfall of significance from here on in unless we get something real heavy overnight...but even if that happens, it will probably be gone within a few hours of daybreak anyhow.
  14. We're like a desperate guy at the bar at 1:30 AM who's been striking out all night. Give me someone, anyone...PLEASE!
  15. That hype for that one was incredible. My neighbors were watching the Weather Channel for Paul Kocin's updates and were actually becoming scared when hearing the forecast. I worked in a ShopRite at the time while going to college and I never saw the store like that. You literally could not move in the front end where people would get in line to check out at one of the registers. Customers fighting for spots in the parking lot, flipping out and buying anything left on the shelf, etc. It was a surreal experience. The store normally closed at 9 PM on Sundays but we didn't get out of there until around midnight because it took so long to get the customers checked out and to clean up.
  16. At least we were let down a little sooner this time. I remember a lot of models showing that we were locked and loaded even within 24 hours of the March 2001 event. I remember the worm starting to turn late on Saturday night of that weekend. Can recall a met on WCBS 880 around 1 AM saying they might have to drastically change the forecast based on new models he was looking at...and it unraveled from there.
  17. I want to keep tracking this but my practical side keeps screaming "Let it go; it's just not our year". Daylight savings beginning this weekend is going to start putting me in spring mode also.
  18. Fat lady is warming up her voice.
  19. He was always a good-looking guy but it's amazing what a little money and surgery can do. I remember the ladies having a thing for Storm Field back in the day also.
  20. I'll take it and move on to spring. Given how this winter has gone and the late date, you have to be realistic.
  21. 17-18 also. Think we had one snowfall every week in March of '18.
  22. Wow. Decent little event for those who get in on it.
  23. I remember some people in my family telling me that the Jersey shore got hit pretty bad by the March '62 storm. A ton of flooding and beach erosion.
