You will rain on Xmas and I will get some ice, watch..... Even in this La Nina a grinch seems to still lurk in this atmosphere. Reason? Lousy Pacific and an Atlantic that isn't really helping much.
No, I got snow for a while here but when it turned to rain it beat the snow down quite a bit. Only left with about 0.1 on ground now at about 8:00 AM after it hit close to an 1.0" around 6:00 PM last night before turning over.
In all honesty and kidding aside with these clown maps, I really don't know how much is really sleet vs snow in those maps that I posted and of course the 12K and 3K Nam is included in that.
The 12k NAM erodes the 1030 MB High quicker than the 3k NAM. In other words, the colder air hangs tougher on the 3K NAM and that's why hence, more snow. It will depend on what model is correct about the erosion of the cold air edging in from the north.
0.5" as of 8:00 AM this morning here in southwest Wilmington. Not a bad surprise. Thought we would get only a trace the way things were looking on radar last night. Nice to wake up to.
Like I said guys, you want that to pop off the southeast NJ coast, be flatter/ less amped, and then we'll be seeing something more interesting taking shape.
