Think I’ve been consumed with the weekend and missed it

What’s the deal up with tonight and tomorrow? CT wise? 1” a dusting this seems like a surprise

I have to say the names are easier to remember than dates for us average joes. I can tell you I got 36”from Nemo but couldn’t tell you even what yesr it was unless I googled it lol

We had a flash freeze a few weeks ago in CT car pile ups etc… no one was expecting it minus those who actually pay attention to weather!

I have had AWD, 2wd and 4x4. I’ve never used snow tires. No one in my family has ever used snow tires. I can say (know on wood) have never been stuck and have driven through blizzard/ heavy snow etc.

Anyone down in Westport ct area? All morning a strip of snow was around there. Still virga here wirh an occasional flake here in Ansonia and not expecting much of anything just saw that snow finally pushed over Long Island

Consider yourselves lucky. I know 3 people who passed away from covid. Not one was elderly. I know at least 5 who have long hauler covid. One person avid runner had a mild case. Went to run when she was all better collapsed. She has covid heart. She regularly saw a cardiologist before due to a murmur so they know it was caused by covid. One who is still on oxygen at home several times a day. Huh I work wirh has had covid 3 times before this new variant and hospitalized twice. It’s really crazy how it varies.

Torrential rain right now in Ansonia

I have a friend who lives near a brook that floods during minor events. I just said don’t park your cars in the road tonight because it’s going to pour. She’s like eh it’s only a little rain… I said well 3-10” can be a big deal. Your road floods in a summer thunderstorm. apparently weathermen are always wrong. So I tried to compare it to Sandy and what happened in mass and Vermont with the amount of rain. Trying to perk her internet to be a little more serious. I said remember the family we talked to about how their friends husband and cows were washes away. We are talking that sort of rain…I don’t think she’s taking me serious as she said we don’t live on a mountain with cows.. which leads me to a longwinded question, will rains be similar to what was experienced with Sandy? Trying to compare this a bit. Really there’s nothing to compare.

it’s been raining down here near new haven since 6am. We are on a hill, but ground water comes up at times during certain weather events. Following because the last time we flooded basement wise was about 15 years ago. Ground was still frozen and we got inches of rain in a short time. Went to go to work and heard a splash in our basement. Sure enough we had 3-4 feet of water down there. The sump pump was unplugged. Keep in mind we were told it was never used and there just incase when we bought the house… not looking forward to this potential. Never mind our garage may flood too
