Over / under on Alta January snowfall ...

I think most mountains that are big snow makers will return nicely over the next 7-10 days and that most resorts will have decent trails for families to enjoy . SR will make snow later tonite and then Wednesday nite thru infinity . They even made some in a small window last nite on a few trails. As long as a torch from hell doesn’t appear in the 10-15 day range I think resorts will turn it around decently for folks that like to enjoy groomers . If you like skiing in glades , sorry probably not for a while of things break right .

I really grade for what I experience and for that it was a A- got 31” in Pinkham notch and 40” plus next to Buffalo airport On my two chases (per their measurement) and the Buffalo chase will stick with me ...didn’t have any snow pack to speak of in Nashua or Bedford for any days (well actually there was 3/4 of an inch for better part of two days in KBED and ASH . Also.. honestly the mild temps for New Years felt pretty good . Will be hard for me to top that in January , but I’ll Likely chase something .

Transient - A week to maybe 10 days of a favorable PNA set up . Then my hope thru February is it just doesn’t get worse then meh- serviceable for majority of peak snow climo . No parakeets to Quebec .
