  1. Agreed! And with the cold coming, should keep them open through March, with more trails open entire time.
  2. Another 4" overnight in Snowshoe. Probably 12-14" total since Sunday. Snowpack is amazing. January 16 and now.
  3. 24° in Snowshoe. Will be driving back to Arlington Monday. Upslope may give Snowshoe more but too far West for the coastal.
  4. About 11-12" since Friday in Snowshoe. Still lightly snowing at 15°. Great ratios always help with these upslope events. Almost 18" snowpack again.
  5. Few inches yesterday. Still a good snowpack of 6". First time in a few years snow has stayed on the ground in Snowshoe.
  6. Light snow all day. Holding steady at 5°. Cold day on the slopes in Snowshoe.
  7. Merry Christmas from Snowshoe. 6° with about 4-6" of snow. Snowpack took a hit yesterday.
  8. Now 32°. Ground white where it was bare from rain.
  9. Dropped to 34° in 3 minutes. Snowing in Snowshoe Village
  10. Over an inch of rain in Snowshoe. Front is about 90 minutes away. Need to get some of this snowpack back! Yesterday vs Today....
  11. Yeah, unfortunately rain everywhere but should transition quickly...
  12. Will be interesting if this verifies in Snowshoe... Christmas Day will be the coldest of the season so far, with arctic air firmly in place beneath the deep upper level system. The ECMWF and Canadian have the upper level low over the area, resulting in deeper saturation through the dendritic growth zone, and snow ratios in excess of 20 to 1.
  13. Yeah, thinking around 7"ish. Forecast was 4-8" so spot on. Still snowing lightly. Snowpack at 18". Most in a few years.
  14. Yeah, I think there are times where Deep Creek does better (last week Snowshoe quickly turned over to sleet and they had more snow) but elevation certainly does help, most of the time.
  15. Yes! I am fortunate enough to be in Snowshoe about 10-15 days a month. Will be there for Christmas as well. Drive is long but you are truly in another world. Actual snow in the winter, 75° in the Summer....
  16. 14" of snowpack with 2-3" new in Snowshoe. Upslope looks nice on radar after the initial thump.

  18. Heavy sleet in Snowshoe, unfortunately. Going to cut down on totals for sure.
  19. Wish all you guys luck in the Beltway. The winter disappointment is non-stop when living there (I still do half the time). I have already recruited one family to Snowshoe but if you seriously need your 'snow fix', consider Deep Creek like @nj2vaor Snowshoe . You can buy a condo here starting at $30k and will mostly pay for itself through rentals. You won't make money but shouldn't cost you much either. 23° here btw, slopes were great!
  20. Cold 12° last night in Snowshoe. Icicles galore...
  21. I'm going to say 8-10" in Snowshoe. Snow is HEAVY and already compacted so can not get a good measurement. Such high water content that there are shades of blue.
