  1. This is the only way to get snow yearly, in person. It's affordable too. $50k can get you a condo. 4 hours from DC
  2. Definitely heavy snow right now. Just heard both roads are closed up to snowshoe. Cars stuck and nobody can pass them.
  3. Lol. Yes! Heck, I'm just happy there is snow in December.
  4. Thinking we can hit 10" in Snowshoe, still with a Winter Weather Advisory. Never saw a WWA issued for amounts up to 8", as they did yesterday. Plus it was within a 6-8 hour period.
  5. Definitely heavy rates since it started around 3 am. 29° with about 7-8".
  6. What's your elevation in Slatyfork? I'm assuming you are at Slatyfork Farm? Looked at a few properties there last year. Just hit 32° on the Southside mtn of Snowshoe. Interested to see what happens tonight.

  8. Euro definitely cut totals for the Wednesday storm here. Wait and see i guess. Unfortunately, no upslope after low passes Wednesday.
  9. Thinking the same thing. Just got to Snowshoe for the week. We don’t do too well with a coastal but combined storms should be nice.
  10. Cold 15° with light snow now falling. Maybe a few inches tonight. Hitting slopes tomorrow!
  11. Try that turn with snow falling...lol. If you have traction control on your AWD/4WD, turn it OFF! You need the momentum, regardless if wheels are spinning. Trust me....learned the hard way.
  12. 66 is back to being opened. All rocks been cut back! Yeah, from DC, gotta go through Cass. Most do come from the other side since a lot of visitors are coming from the south.

  14. Got to Snowshoe today. Could see the caked trees in the distance. Ground was white around 3900'. Caked trees were around 4500'. Thorny Flat (highest point in Snowshoe) is 4849'.
  15. About 7" in Snowshoe. Cold winter day, great for snow guns. Hopefully be there next week for some runs. Don't like this rain threat Saturday though.

  21. Front just came through Snowshoe with some very gusty winds. Light snow now falling. Last chance for them to make snow in order to open Thanksgiving.

  23. Actually a 9 day 'work week' where we work a total of 3-24 hour shifts, then off 4 days in a row. This is the time I come to Snowshoe. Comes out to 53 hours/week.
