Now it's almost completely overcast here :-( I guess that very early 1 PM high of 102.6 will do it for me today. It could have been 106+ again today if it wasn't was for those darned clouds. -
Yesssss I'm glad JFK did it too, I was worried when the clouds came in earlier than forecast. Don, why is it that when the sky is 75% clear that clouds still seem to find a way to cover the sun? You'd think going by probability that 25% cloud cover would mean that the sun would be shining 75% of the time, but it always seems that the clouds are in the same part of the sky as the sun. This happened here yesterday between 3-4 pm and now today

even with the clouds it's still 99.0 here, I'm waiting for them to move back out to make another triple digit push

We had clouds here between 3-4 pm it capped my temperatures but when the sun came back out around 4 pm it got to 106.0 here Today it got to 102.6 here before the clouds moved in

The clouds are the only thing keeping it from 100+ for everyone. In my experience if there is a dry downsloping wind in the summer it will always hit 100 here unless there are clouds and there are always clouds, I've never had a completely clear summer day here on a very hot day.

It just hit 102.6 here, but the clouds moved in =\ It hit 102+ twice already, once at 12:36 (and then clouds came) and then again right at 1:00 (and then the clouds came back.)

Thanks, I saw this and got a little confused lol The record was set during June 25-28, 1984 and tied during June 8-11, 1984 So we had two 4 day 90+ streaks in June 1984, Don?

That 2013 streak must have been when everyone hit 100 except for Central Park lol

That 1896 streak of 10 consecutive days of 90+ was our first historic super heatwave, over 1,500 people died during it.

Yep that was the last time it hit 100 here, 7-8 consecutive 90+ days, also our last 7+ day 90+ streak.

That was such an intense and long lasting heatwave, I wonder when we'll get something like that again.....

I'm thinking 100 is possible though. Like in July 2011, July 22, 2011 was best case scenario when I reached 105.6 and still got to 101 in slightly less ideal conditions on July 23, 2011. I think that was the last time the entire area reached 100+ two days in a row.

Yep, I was in the upper 80s by 10 PM but then it just kind of stalled and fell very slowly after that.

it's also very rare to hold back the sea breeze like that. If it happens again my guess would be between July 20-31? Like with a November snowstorm, doesn't it take awhile for the pattern to reload? I think we could hit 100 again today and then our next chance might be in 4 weeks.

let's hit 100 again today Tony! Yesterday felt like July 1936 or July 1966 here when I achieved my location record of 106.0 at 4:36 pm beating my old location record (at the same spot) of 105.6 on July 22, 2011.

I think 100 is possible here again with no clouds no sea breeze and a low of 84 this morning
