Would you believe I had a client today depressed about how long and cold this winter has been? And talk of possible snow has made him even worse. We forget here how much people hate winter, and that for some people it is profoundly depressing and they would move if they could.
This winter has seemed like an eternity for me as well. its the darkness that gets me

NYC ~4"

Minimal if any sleet.
Knock off an inch or so and that’s good

lets make one thing clear - I am not saying these maps are correct - but they are considered guidance and that's what this discussion is all about - even the euro had some accumulation over the next 10 days
If the models are accurate, Boston will be under 3” of snow on February 14

How’s it over when Chicago reaches one of the coldest nights in its history we’ve had two single digit temps in January and it’s 20 degrees right now. Winter is not over, it doesn’t want to snow but more cold air is coming for sure.
Nobody cares about cold without snow.

Up here (I can actually say that now lol), doesn't look like much melted and we have snowcovered everything. Probably a half inch and blowing around. It might actually be better for driving than a situation like yours.
Yea, welcome aboard. We didnt have much melt, just wasnt alot of QPF.

This brief whiteout lasting 2-4 minutes rivaled some of the best blizzards here at their peaks. The rest of the event outside those few minutes was moderate to heavy. Easily the best few minutes of winter 18-19 so far.
Agreed. Not much accumulation, maybe 1/2"? We'll take it...

The winds were very impressive, 45/50 at least

Shame it doesn't last 12-14 hrs.
We had 3 legit blizzards with these conditions last year. Areas further west dont often get the wind/snow combo that we do out here so its more special for them
