It really depends on the track of this thing..

I think this would be an unusual track for any time of the year! I can't recall a storm since Sandy that went retrograde.

From what I'm seeing, the storm is going to move due north and dissipate over central new york.

Where are you getting that number from?

I'm really concerned about Central NJ. The wind, the rain... the flooding. It's going to be really bad for them.

I keep seeing people talk about the 2015 - 2016 record El Nino and how the winter of 2015 - 2016 was so horrible. I sure as heck don't remember anyone complaining about the 27.5 inches of snow Central Park got in one storm.

Back on Tuesday, the NWS was calling this a nuisance storm. They're not going to name anything.

Better late than never... but still. I assume when the heavy rain gets here, they'll hoist flood watches and warnings too.

Definitely a hybrid. Pressure isn't dropping or rising that much. If it were warm core, the pressure would be rising because the waters are colder the further north it goes.

We have not hit the main event yet. We are still watching the preliminary. When the storm wants to show us what its got, I very much believe we will all be impressed.

FWIW, I was being sarcastic. The storm is still off of the Carolinas. It's taking absolutely forever to get up here. What we have now are the outer bands. The main event is tomorrow night.

They're literally taking a sub-990 low pressure system making landfall that's dropping buckets of rain with a 1030 high to our north and saying "Meh. Wind advisory." Make it make sense.

How can they live with themselves?

As someone as experienced as you are, I'm sure you are acutely aware that even the best weather models disagree with one another over time, strength and precise location of a storm. No model will give you the exact LAT/LONG for a landfalling Nor'East, hurricane, or even a Nor'Easter in January. The idea that this storm is going to impact New England the most is dead. Long Island/NYC points south are going to be the highest impacted from this storm. The NWS is dropping the ball on this completely.

You're talking about timing. All models take this into central NJ at some point. Just don't agree on the timing. The track is pretty consistent within 50 miles, however.
