  1. As someone else pointed out maybe they are looking at the RGEM ?
  2. WOW, aren't they usually more conservative , I mean especially with the models showing drier ? and what's with the N n W totals,,,don't get me wrong I will take 4-6 in New City but as I said after the overnight runs they appear to me on the high side. What did they see at 4 a m to say this ?
  3. I posted yesterday to Don,,,,,,didn't this happen in 78 with the blizzard and then another storm with actually mored snow but less wind a week later ? I remember that mountain of Snow on my avenue in Brooklyn for what seemed like the entire winter under my window
  4. Thanks for sharing BX as I am in new city and you are close and I could not get an accurate reading in my yard with the wind and neighbors and myself snow blowing and they yardstick I setup in my back yard was thrown off by snow blowing and falling off my roof,,,,,still would like to know exact how much was measured in my area
  5. Is there a site to look up what was measured but specifically in my area of New City in Rockland County as I did not get an accurate measurement and I want to confirm,,,,,thanks in advance
  6. Agreed,,,thanks,,,,,anyone else on this thread in or near New City ? I know that one of the mods is in Nyack but it looked as if his measurements were always a little less than ours earlier today
  7. 85 where are you at exactly,,,,,,and do u have a measurement ? I am in Rockland County / New City and my yardstick has been on my table / deck and stuck on 16 inches for hours but I know we got at least 4 more inches maybe more since we shoveled ,,,I am thinking the wind is screwing my measurements,,,,just trying to gauge what we got here anyone else feel free to chime in if you are nearby or have a measurement,,thanks
  8. Im in New City and it might have started sooner but I noticed the first flakes around 9 or 9 30
  9. All that I can add is that NOTHING is written in stone with literally 3 days before game time and to live and die with each run,,,,well you guys should know better. I love the discussions but trends are one thing and even a novice like myself respects them and takes them into consideration but the models could just as easily shift back North and or West as we get closer to game time as some ALWAYS DO,,,,my 2 cents but this is far from a done deal
  10. Looking like 12 degrees in New City / Rockland right now ,,,,,,I see a quick walk in my dogs future ,,,,out , take care of business and then right back into the house lol
  11. Here is my 2 cents as B R always talks about the Macdonald rule which is " where the system enters on the West Coast it usually exits in the east coast " and IF this holds true with this storm THEN South of NYC is the place to be for this one,,,,,does it happen ? ---> 3 days to go
  12. New City best guesstimate 6 inches,,,snowing and sleeting lightly,, Does anyone have a link to the radar ? Im having issues with Mount Holly ,thanks in advance
  13. FEEN to be honest, Corona is so in our face and on every channel not to mention on so many other forums that I come on here to get away from that for a while but thats me
  14. I have read such things in books and I have seen such things in old movies, yet I thought they only wives tales.
  15. Liberty you are going too fast for me as I am still very much a novice , what the hell is a Aneroid Barometer lol ?
  16. Yes Liberty exactly,,,,,I remember back then my dad brought home one of those hand held weather radios all you got on it was a recorded weather announcement for a few areas and I would listen to that for hours as a kid. They would update the recorded message every so often back then it was state of the art now its comical
  17. I used to love watching and listening to Alan Kasper on ch2, he was a really good weather man and a snow weenie as he would outwardly hope for snow while doing his forecast.
