Another SE shift on EPS for this weekend. Looking like a goner for Upstate region. -
Consecutive SE shifts on 0z and 6z eps mean for this weekend. Doesn't look good.

Yeah BGM was up to 28.1 counting 1/17. With the few inches of LE last night and this morning, they'll probably be up to like 31-32 once 1/18 is posted tomorrow.

That doesn't have BGMs latest numbers following the storm. Between the storm and lake effect last night and this morning, I think BGM is in the 30s now.

EPS has a smattering of hits with the weekend system. Odds don't look great with the rest of the models being misses but maybe we get lucky. Control run

All snow here... steady light to mod rate and winds are picking up from the NW. Nice fluffy dendrites. Street starting to coat over. Temp is down to 28.8° from an earlier high of 41 around noon.

Yeah we're sizzling down here. Temp has backed off to 39 now. Edit: down to 36 with flurries. Winds appeared to have started backing around to the west.

Temp rose to 41 and paved surfaces have melted off. All told we got about 9 inches. Got mine and 4 of my neighbors driveways all snowblowed. It was heavy and dense snowpack by mid morning but the diesel ate right thru it no problem!

Snow just won't die here and is picking back up. Mod to heavy rate right now.

Latest totals in CNY. BGM NWS also measured 7.3 about 5 miles east of me earlier this morning. Early winners are central southern tier into the western finger lakes as expected/modeled.

I have a compacted 7.5 in my driveway so I'm guessing we received somewhere between 8-8.5 so far. Light snow attm with a temp of 28.6°.

Took a final measurement before getting some sleep. Up to 7.3 with rates starting to drop off. Temp is up to 29.3°. Hopefully can eek out 8".

That's from the start of the 0z run so that's a storm total including what already fallen so far from 0z-7z.

I feel like the only model that consistently seemed to show both an overachiever in BGM and an underachiever in SYR was the RGEM. But I could be wrong. It had been consistently showing that weird orientation to its estimated snow accumulations from BGM to SYR.

Definitely seems odd that we are overperforming in BGM with seemingly no mixing to this point but further N in upper CNY around SYR seems to underperform according to what Max and Matt are saying. That might be final proof that the THM effect is a REAL thing.

Yeah... I'm sure ROC will definitely outperform here though lol. Our rates will definitely be dropping off here before long. Maybe end up around 8" possibly.

Nodded off on the couch and missed my 12:20 measurement... still getting nice dendritic growth with no signs of mixing to this point. We are up to 6.1... that's 3" in the past 2 hours.
