At 403 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Sharon, or near Norwood, moving northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Strong winds could cause minor damage such as downed branches. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Good morning all. New to this subforum. I moved to Boston in May from Georgia and live in the Cambridge area. I've only experienced a few storms over 4" in my life. Does the ocean temperatures effect every storm like this? Or is it only early in the season when the water is relatively warm?
