  1. Like 2/3rds of the US is a glacier for the next two weeks. Amazing.
  2. Cold means business. This is what happens when you advect arctic air over frozen Great Lakes and ground. Minimal airmass modification.
  3. Mesonet stations out west showing temps really diving. Frostburg down to 20°, Bittinger down to 18°, with single digit wind chills.
  4. Bro, no. I'm at work from 8 pm Sat., to 8 pm. Mon. I want to go home at some point.
  5. Amazing AFD from LWX. Absolutely worth the read.
  6. It's not on an island. Most of the 12z suite ticked colder throughout the column.
  7. Yea the 18z HRRR is definitely colder and wetter. More snow for I-95 and points north and west. More sleet than ZR for southern MD too.
  8. Heard it on WTOP. Just amended my post to clarify.
  9. WTOP just reported on air of a statewide emergency declaration for Maryland
  10. You are very close to the Clarksville mesonet site. It's almost in your backyard! Link: https://mesonet.umd.edu/station?stid=MDMSNT-01
  11. Clear trend on the Euro to also weaken the primary low at the surface and aloft quicker. Probably stunts the mid level warming so quickly. I want to see more of that today into tomorrow.
  12. Counties that border both sides of Mason-Dixon could push 14"+ per the 12z Euro.
  13. Canadian kills the inland low off quick and has a better high. Good signs and it's been trending this way for several runs.
  14. The 12z suite is good. If we can knock that warm layer down, then it would be a boom scenario wrt snowfall.
  15. It's *possible* the warm nose might not be as bad, and it's oscillating right on the edge of flipping between snow and sleet.
  16. Mt. Holly & Wakefield forecast for central and lower Delmarva
  17. RE: snow:water ratio forecasting. Thought this would be a good book mark for folks.
  18. FWIW, the 12z HRRR appears colder and holds the sleet line below I-66 through 12z/15z Sunday.
  19. RE: Freezing rain risk. See the response from @wxmvpete
  20. Big plus on the 12z NAM is that it appears to kill off the primary surface low quick, and further south.
  21. 00z GFS is the best case scenario. 8"-12" along I-95, 12"-16" immediate western suburbs. 16"+ west of US 15.
