    24 hours later. Still wedged.

The wedge held firm like 10 miles south of my home.  You could feel the warmer breeze but then the sun set and we got socked in with fog again.

Just went for a long walk around the neighborhood and couldn’t will the sun out yet. Still socked in with clouds and 53. A few days back forecast high was 69. We will be lucky to make it to 59 up here.

I think we're good even up in Baltimore County.  Note on the satellite how there's low level flow now switching out of the south.  As the mid level junk is clearing out the lower level fog and such is eroding in southern Maryland.  It'll take longer than forecast, and that may be due to the models lacking daya from less commercial aircraft.  Until this whole COVID thing blows over I'd take the low end of guidance and lean more towards nowcasting.

  3. What was a dead calm morning now showing some sign of life.  Bit of a south wind picking up here in Reisterstown and fog is breaking up a bit.  Really hope we break out, my lawn is awake and the yard needs some work.

I get it, my gf is doing something similarly. I should probably try to stay away from the heavy beers but I cant help myself

Wheat beers, lagers and stouts are so good for the taste buds but not the waist line.

Well do you like chocolate? Lol...try Yards Love Chocolate stout

I love chocolate and always am looking for a good recommendation.  My wife is on the keto lifestyle and I'm trying to support her wherever possible so right now it's only the drier beers (Sapporo, Orion) in the fridge.  Thanks for the recommendation on the Yards Love Chocolate...will add it to my list of drinking out when this is all over.

Dont get me wrong, its good. But its your typical coffee type stout. They all taste similar to me unless they're barrel aged or something

I've yet to have a good chocolate or coffee stout.  Oatmeal stout for me all day.

He advocated government workers lose pay because other people are hurting.  He isn’t alone unfortunately.   I find it odd that when people are struggling some react by trying to pull others down rather than figure out how to lift those in need up. Will it somehow make the people struggling feel better if everyone else gets screwed also?  Whenever I’ve had problems I never thought the solution was how to put someone else into my same predicament. Something about our society I’ll never get.

"I had to suffer and you should too", is ingrained in this country's DNA.

At today’s press conference, both doctors asked anyone who has travelled from NYC metropolitan area in the past week to self-quarantine for 14 days.  More than half the new cases in the US are in New York and they are concerned about people spreading it from New York.

I don't know if we are ever going to have an accruate confirmed count at this point in the US.

i could see him doing that, we are about 90% of the way there anyways. I could also see him saying schools will close to at least Easter.

there isn't much more he can do, and he wouldn't be holding a presser if he wasn't doing something. so, i like your gut. my gut says the same.

$20 says it's just announcing that schools are closed through the end of this academic year.

    ? Why a definitive no

I don't see a shelter in place in Maryland, right now, for the following reasons:

1.) We aren't seeing runs on supplies, riots, or lawlessness

2.) With the exception of a few areas, Marylanders are observing the social distancing laws.

3.) We are spiking in cases, but our hospital systems and 911 systems are still afloat because Pints # 1 & 2 are being observed.

To me, there is no reason for a shelter in place and Hogan isn't one to make a rash decision.

Yeah, the death rate there is astounding and much higher than anywhere else in the world.  I haven’t seen much information on the age range of these cases.  I would assume most, but obviously not all, are elderly.

They have about 3 more weeks of this before any change from their social distancing can start showing up.

Excellent now.  Yesterday was a false alarm.. BTW.. FDA found a cure:

"In fact, after six days, 70 percent of the treated patients were considered cured, meaning that the virus was no longer detected in samples taken from them, compared to 12.5 percent of the control group patients. Furthermore, all six patients who were treated with both hydroxychloroquine and the antibiotic azithromycin tested negative for the virus after six days."

The perk of these trips is suppliers tend to lavish us with great dining experiences.  Not the same as takeout or delivery.  Oh well.  I feel badly for all the staffs of these places that now have impacted incomes.  Talking to some last night who had no idea what was in store for them.

It just sucks in America more for those who go out a lot.  My wife and I almost never eat out for financial reasons and we typically keep to ourselves (gardening, fishing, hiking, etc.) so this doesn't affect us too much.  Great opportunity for home improvement projects though!

I'm in Mass for the week for work.  Gov just ordered all restaurants closed.  This is gonna suck.

You still have takeout and delivery services.  That is not changing.

Just so everyone is aware, if they get away with shutting down businesses over the coronavirus, they will do it again for different reasons or no reason at all.

Okay buddy you have a blessed day.

This whole work from home thing....

I have a business that employs 24 people. 24 people that depend on having a place to work every day in order to support their family.  I am currently struggling with, not just riding one thin line...but riding several at the same time.

I cant pour concrete from home. I cant excavate from home. I cant give quotes from home. I cant enter a closed permit office.

Trying to protect the office staff...trying to protect our service crews that have customer contact multiple times daily, trying to protect our customers, trying to protect our construction crews...it's all freaking daunting.

The retraction in revenues is absolutely impossible to predict.  What else do I do but prepare for a worse-case scenario?  Example - Travel restrictions for non essential personnel lasting greater than 4 weeks.  Those preparations and changes that will protect us personally from a worst-case scenario will greatly impact a very minor segment of the local population.  But, I am just one hole in the wall business...This will have a long-term effect on our economy and general way of life, IMO.  You cant just spring back from 8+ weeks of America "down-time."

I truly hope  I am wrong.  If it's anything like my snowfall prediction...hey, we'll be in good shape!  Just venting to someone other than my wife....

Small Business Assistance (SBA) loans are going to be approved for this event.  Reach out to your local OEM / government and inquire about them.  Typically they are small to zero interest and designed to quickly inject capital into small businesses to plug the gap.  DM me if you experience difficulty in doing this and I will help where I can.
