Dang, well I feel dumb. I don’t remember. I know the LE storm, but I thought that was a 7.8” measurement.

When’s the last time ORD hit double digits on a storm system? Seems like a couple years, at least (and looks to continue after this).

Snow amounts are 3 inches higher at 9z Wednesday on 0z NAM than they were on the 18z NAM at the same time.

Talk about it, sure. Even go full Mike Caplan & show every weather model’s take. But a map 48 hours out of a complex, huge system? Schwarz & a miss.

ABC7 Chicago put out a map. I would’ve waited a day or so to avoid the “You only said 3-6 inches!” crowd if models keep bringing it north.

The ratios, I assume, will be near 10:1 for the overrunning portion since it’s starting as rain. How are they looking for the main event storm?

You know it’s a good looking storm when I’m looking at my area in Boone County having around a foot of snow on the models & thinking, “Man, that could be better.”

As location continues to wobble, these models just continue showing monster totals run after run. That’s the best sign of anything.

Here’s a gif of the GEFS 10:1 Ensembles from 6pm Tuesday to Friday at midnight. If #10 came anywhere close to verifying, nothing’s happening in Chicago for a few days afterward.
