  1. Nerve wracking storm. Wind roaring, house being pelted with tree branches and twigs. Power constantly flickering. Worse than the last serval tropical storms
  2. I'm really sorry you guys in the main part of the subforum are missing out. If it makes you feel better, this isn't as fun when you're worried your power will go out. 42,000 outages in Sussex County DE and rising.
  3. Absolutely insane conditions over here. Wind is roaring. House getting pelted by tree branches. Lights constantly flickering/dimming. Neighborhoods all around me are without power. 42,000 without power throughout the county.
  4. Power flickering. Lots of reports of outages throughout Delaware
  5. Heavy snow, fine flakes. Estimate 3-4" otg. It's accumulating as fast as you can shovel it
  6. https://imgur.com/a/aZuMxwA Just some shots from taking the dog out. Eyeballing 1.5-2" so far. It's so heavy it is falling off surfaces from its own weight
  7. Keep hearing thumping on my roof from slush falling off the trees
  8. Lol I drive that road every day coming home from work Just goes to show the power of heavy rates
  9. Yep, just posted in our local thread. It's puking snow, roads are caving, local businesses are closing earlier than planned https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17NFg8SHtz/ My dog is PISSED
  10. Absolutely puking snow. Roads in Dewey Beach are snow covered already, and a lot of businesses that were going to stay open to 4-6pm are closing now.
  11. Feels safer to post our obs in here rather than get hate in the main thread lol. Rain switched to clumpy slushy snow bombs.
  12. I haha'ed because boy are we a sick bunch, and it's crazy to think there are still shots after this.
  13. The atmosphere just feels different, like it's holding its breath. Birds at my feeders going crazy. Laid in an extra bag and some suet for the woodpeckers and juncos tomorrow
  14. I feel like DelDOT is probably more on the ball for this one given the hype and their performance in the last one This! If anything the coast is probably more likely to verify the blizzard conditions Also not a bad idea, 50 would definitely get cleared 1st True, but I doubt you'd be able to make that 5 minute drive to Rehoboth during the storm unless you have 4WD yep, I'm anticipating a closure or work from home tomorrow and Tuesday.. How dare you betray us lol
  15. I forgot you were over here in DE. I think we are solid even in some sort of worst case fail scenario. Like others have said, get some sleep, and get ready to stay up late tomorrow night. I usually don't, but 2"/hour rates and possible thundersnow are worth it...
  16. I don't know that one...."fair weather" and "good ole days" are my go-tos.
  17. Genuinely concerned about downed trees and power outages here. We have a trailer that's surrounded by some very tall oak trees, and the wind direction has me nervous. My only consolation is that they have survived Isabel, Isaias, Sandy, etc..
  18. Trixie, come on now. How many times in the past have we seen a state of emergency be declared hours if not a day before a major weather event? Don't be obtuse.
  19. Really not trying to make light of it, but WTF is a "state of preparedness"? Lol why not just do a state of emergency? @Eskimo Joe are you able to shed any light on this?
