  1. Yes sir - sure looks like our ONLY chance at anything wintry anytime soon is in about 5-6 days. And it's a small chance at that. Afterwards, the Trainer's AC will be deployed to active duty.
  2. Looks like my 60-62 was a bust too low...62.2 here now and rising quite rapidly.
  3. Hoping that the training brings something other than just raining...
  4. Yeah, I don't think that's happening. Could see a spike to maybe 60-62 or so.
  5. Skies are clearing across the river as I type this. Sitting at 52 right now...with sun on the doorstep, 60 is well within reach.
  6. Our hope for the next few weeks is the midweek "event" next week - there might be just enough cold air timed with that trailing wave that could produce some wintry precip. Odds favor areas N&W of my house for sure.
  7. Yep! Embrace the cold! (when and if it actually gets cold) I learned from my father - he was always out in the snow in a t shirt. It's the Alaskan blood in us.
  8. I was on vacation the first 3 days this week and wore shorts the entire time. I cut down my Christmas tree in shorts yesterday...
  9. 48 here now. After several dark days it's nice to see some sun.
  10. Every once in a great while I add something of value.
  11. From Millersville: the overall pattern favors low odds of measurable snow in LanCo. through at least Dec. 15. We'll see some more big temp. swings, but the # of "mild" days will likely be greater than the # of "cold" ones.. with monthly temps. ending up at least 1-3° above normal..
  12. Do we want to be posting in 2 different threads simultaneously? Now that it's December 1st, I think we should move on to the Winter thread that Bubbler created yesterday.
  13. All the leaves are brown and the sky is grey... Phillipsburg dreamin' on such a winter's day
  14. Full 10 degrees lower here, sitting at 29.0. Temp has been fluctuating wildly the past few hours between 29 and 36. This is the lowest reading of the evening.
  15. What does it being 26 in York have to do with it being balmy earlier today where he lives?
  16. I was a 18, senior in high school and glad that the storm came on Friday so that I only missed one day of school. I wasn't trying to graduate in July so Friday storms were a huge bonus. I got 5" of snow in one hour between 4pm and 5pm that Friday. 12" in 3 hours. Lightning, thunder...the 3 hour period from 3pm to 6pm that day was the best 3 hours of snow I've experienced in ANY storm in my life. Not often does a foot fall around here in the time it takes to play an NFL game.
  17. I would never punt that early, though by then I'm conceding that the best time for snow (my opinion) has slipped away.
  18. To be 100% clear, I am in no way punting winter. That's plain foolishness to do in November! My point was that signs indicate a sub-standard season in the snow department. If anyone is expecting a banner winter they might want to lower expectations a little.
  19. I was going to post something similar- I think expectations might need to be adjusted or some are going to be left feeling quite frustrated. I agree with what Blizz said last night- it might not be much but it's nice seeing flakes flying on multiple days in this little stretch.
  20. No. Bubbler's PBP today is simply the models starting to latch on to the pattern that exists. Pattern will drive our weather, not the models.
  21. Meanwhile...nice little snow shower is here now.
