  1. Temp is starting to climb more rapidly now. I have a lot of ground to make up.
  2. Lots of great backs from the SEC over my lifetime, I have Herschel and Bo as my top 2 to watch. Up to 54. Interestingly, after a full hour of sun I only gained 5 degrees. I've added 4 more degrees in the past 10 minutes.
  3. Once this fog burns off I'm sure I'll spike quicker than a Gronk touchdown. Only concern is that this late in fall it can take a lot longer to burn through this than during late summer.
  4. I'm laughing and crying at the same time - I can't even see to the end of my yard, that's how thick the fog is.
  5. 60s and 70s lose total appeal to me starting next Wednesday. This should be the last week of any warmth - come Thanksgiving I'm ready for the deep freeze.
  6. Socked in a dense overcast/fog here and 39. Need @paweather to send his sunshine down my way so I can get my 70 today.
  7. I had no idea either. I knew something was up when the doctor called and started off saying "yeah, so the good news is you're negative for Covid; BUT,...
  8. Get well soon. I was tested for Covid yesterday only to find out that I tested positive for the flu. I've been sick since late Sunday. Not fun. Fever, aches, sore throat, horrible cough, congestion...yeah.
  9. Surprised by how quickly it has cooled off, though I don't think we'll drop much of significance tonight. I'm down 10 to 49 already, chief.
  10. Short of a day with full sun that is not expected, that record should be safe. Should be.
  11. Warm air was thwarted at the turnpike - 59 was my high but already down to 53.
  12. Understood. It was just a few years ago we had a significant snow in November, and given the hype started about next week, I think his point was simply "hey, looking at the pattern for next week, it just doesn't support snow here, or anywhere close to here". I thought it was a good thing to say - there are probably people in the area that believe that we're getting dumped on next week. I know my daughter was texting me about it.
  13. Just posting what he said. I'd say a good guess based on climo and logic.
  14. He said a few days ago that given the overall pattern, he doesn't anticipate snow locally until sometime in December. At this point that's probably a pretty good guess. Time will tell.
  15. Work keeps getting in my way of what's really important. See my post above about next week.
  16. And the new weather director at MU emphatically put the kabosh on snow chances for next week: MU Weather Center@MUweather (3/3) So, I think the ultimate outcome is that a cold front brings showers to the mid-Atlantic Sunday night into Monday, with any snow confined to northern New England and areas near the Great Lakes. Colder for Tuesday with wind gusts of 40-50 mph and *maybe* a few snowflakes.. MU Weather Center@MUweather (1/3) There's been a lot of unwarranted hype in the last day or two with talk of a major, early-season snowstorm in parts of the mid-Atlantic and Northeast early next week.. so I figured it was time to "chime in" and give my thoughts as a "voice of reason." MU Weather Center@MUweather (2/3) Late-November climatology tells us that it's rare for a major snowfall to impact the Lower Susquehanna Valley and I-95 corridor from New York to Washington, D.C., and large-scale features in next week's weather pattern aren't in the right places for this rule to be broken.
  17. More sun, more warmth. 54 now and climbing quickly.
  18. Guessing the warmup here is imminent - just had a light shower roll through. Thinking that might be the push of warm air. 47.
  19. Nice not being the hot spot for once. I'm at 46 now.
