GFS continues to depict the LSV getting into the top of the ring of fire and the "over the top" moisture feed next weekend.  Acts to both keeps temps much lower than they could be (never hits 80 on the temp panels) and flows quite a bit of moisture this way with .75 to 1.25" LSV wide by this time next week.    CMC moves the center of any heat wave west to the Ohio Valley.

    If only...

Fog is burning off quickly now - we'll see how warm we get. I think we have an outside shot at 80 today...

Sweet easterly breeze supported 54 here right now.   Radar estimated 3/4" of rain in some areas of York county.  Probably overdone on the estimate.

55 here. Finished with .05" of rain.

Wife and I were walking in rural southern Lanco this afternoon and there were a couple of close lightning strikes down that way. Probably a little more rain in that area.

We got some backdoor precip! Prob up to to a tenth of an inch. I’ll take it!

Parts of York county look like they are getting a soaker.

.03" here with a few drops remaining. I'll post an update if I receive anything additional.

Saw your post in the MA.  My simple way to explain the whole situation is if a store says shoes and shirt required, you are expected to wear shoes and a shirt.  Same for a mask.

Yep, as someone who is fully vaccinated, I am ready to lose mine forever. However, many businesses are and will continue requiring them and I have every intention of respecting their decision and will continue to wear mine where I need to.

It’s dry.   I’ve thrown out more water than I ever have this early in the last 13 years I’ve been superintendent.   Farmers are saying same thing, plowing fields and nothing but dust.   I wouldn’t call it a drought but I don’t like the look going into June.   You can’t judge by looking at your yard lol.

    This.

I'd sort of expect this in July or August, but it's only the middle of May. If we don't get rain today things will really be drying out this coming week. With a potential heatwave looming...not good.

You know what I hate? I hate it when you get a cold snap for 1-2 weeks and then you only get a few days of more average weather until you're hit with extreme heat. Those temps are looking godawful next week

Well the past week or two hasn't been a cold snap but definitely 5-10 degrees below average. And then boom we go 10-18 above average with no inbetween

    Agree 100% on that!

Agreed. Phillies will be 100% capacity in June. I think it is time now, in my mind. I have followed the rules that definitely were in place over the past year but normalcy would be definitely nice. It will be good to walk in to a grocery store for the first time mask free. And if people who are fully vaccinated still want to wear one, fine no issue with me. I am just happy the CDC made the ruling today. Let's get concerts back and 100% capacity stadiums back. Now back to the weather, had some drops of rain a little while ago. Another great autumn like day. 68 degrees here.

That - I could not say better. I completely stand beside every word you just wrote. I'm fully vaccinated and I'm ready to ditch the restrictions.

My Orioles can go to 100% capacity and still have plenty of room for social distancing. Even with capacity capped at 11,000, they've attracted that many fans so far this year exactly...

    Never.

Why do you both still have your masks on?  CDC said take them off and be free again.

Yep, now it's up to the state, counties, etc., right?

Interestingly enough, Philadelphia and Allegheny counties are currently amongst the lowest in the state for rolling 7 day confirmed cases. Is that due to higher vaccination rates in those areas? I mean...Philly is running REALLY low on cases right now, which is excellent to see. Some of the highest spots in the state are in more rural areas...

GFS has no frosty mornings through out.  Still not overly warm though.  Some low 70's a few days next week (Tue-Fri) then back into a more marine like 50's and 60's for highs and 40's for lows.  It seems that this season each time the GFS suggest the heat is here for good, it backs down.  Eventually the heat will be here for good....I guess?

CMC is MUCH hotter.  90's next weekend.

I want no part of 90s, but it's going to come eventually. I'd love to keep those 70s around for a while longer.

32 at dawn with some frost, hope this is the last morning with temperatures this low with frost till fall. I'm ready for sustained warmth.

As long as it's not hot - I agree with you. The only thing good about cold these days is that it's not hot. I'll sign up for 70s gladly.

Wow, we only got to 60 today and its already down to 48 with a DP of 34.   Still think we avoid frost with those DP's though.  Temp differences have been fairly extreme this spring.  We have elevation but a 10-15 degree difference is pretty big.

I'm radiating pretty efficiently this evening, already down to 54.

So 7 Yankees have Covid and 6 were fully vaccinated with the JNJ vaccine.  That is pretty big news.

I just saw that, and it is big news. Sigh. I just don't know what to think...

    After math of the rain.

River JUST crested here less than 1.5' below the action stage - pretty remarkable considering that down here, we haven't had much rain. Everything that you've received over the past week or so, just came downstream through here. :)
