Yet another illustration of how extreme cold or heat on models rarely verifies. A week ago, models showed central North Carolina with widespread below or around zero temperatures, yet few places are even in the single digits now, outside of the Triad.

Depends upon where you are. If you’re in Roanoke, South Hill, Winston-Salem, Danville, or Roanoke Rapids, sometimes the interests align. Moreover, what’s good for Elizabeth City or Norfolk might not be what’s good for Upstate South Carolina or Georgia.
