I will agree with you he has to get better throwing the ball away especially when in field goal range to make sure your not pushing your team out of field goal range. He missed some throws he could have made but regardless of why his receivers still had key drops in key moments. Him missing the wide open receivers seemed more like miscommunication of where his receiver was going to be in his route than just flat out throwing errantly. Like I said before I’m not saying he didn’t have a bad game but there’s way more blame here then just Allen. The entire offense including Dabolls play calling was not good at all. How many times did we go 3 and out with a predictable run on 1st down, run on 2nd down, throw on 3rd and long and then punt? Numerous times, including right after the Edmunds interception. To me that’s poor play calling and certainly has an effect on what they can do when Baltimore knows what they are going to do and can bring the house on a Blitz knowing it’s going to throw Allen off with poor blocking up front...

You mean if the offensive line actually somewhat protected him today and his receivers actually caught the ball. Don’t get me wrong Josh didn’t have his best game, but I hate when people blame one person especially when he had no interceptions, took an absolute beating out there running for his life when a blitz pickup was missed or his rookie TE completely whiffs on a block and gets him absolutely crushed on his blindside causing a fumble and his receivers had over 5 drops, a couple coming in critical times. The whole offense kind of laid a dud today, play calling included.

GFS always looks better 2 weeks out. We’d be having a fantastic winter if the 2 week GFS output was ever right lol.

I can’t find one run right now that shows any warning criteria snows anywhere let alone the Southtowns. Good thing is it’s still early and as quick as things turned for the worst the could turn back the other way though doubtful. Just not impressed at all with the parameters of this event. Seems like virtually all things working against us except for what that shortwave passes Wednesday we may have a little “Arctic front” burst of snow but I know I’m not expecting more than an inch or two in West Seneca. It’s seems like a slow start to the season for us but we’re actually right at about average to date however if things don’t turn around soon we are gonna be in the departures. Fine by me though because now I’m a mailman and having to walk 12 miles a day through whatever the weather is. Give me a day like today everyday and I’m happy. Upper 30s and sunshine is perfect walking weather. I can’t believe I’ve turned to the dark side now but unless we get a whopper with cheese let it be warm and sunny!

Yes I’m thinking next week the Southtowns are gonna be buried! Think the flow may be too Westerly to make it to the city/north towns but it’s still super early. At least we have something to track and look forward to.

Picked up additional 2.2” of snow since I cleared this morning bringing my storm total to 4.6” but only about 3-3.5” on the ground. Literally probably the heaviest snow I have ever seen except for maybe October 2006. As others have said if it was a few degrees colder we’d be talking a foot plus easy.

Wow I was not expecting to see that when I woke up... where’s the lake effect???? Looks almost non existent and I have maybe 2 inches??? The NWS was right and we were all wrong. Guess that’s why they get paid the big bucks. Definitely will make me think again before criticizing them...

Yeah snow coming down very nicely here and having no trouble sticking to the roads and it’s not even coming down all that heavy... don’t see where these thermal issues are coming in unless it warms up during the night. I’m at 32 degrees now and it was 17 here this morning so all surfaces are pretty cold which is why the snow is sticking to everything no problem...

RGEM and BTV-WRF have bullseyes over the Southtowns... Not even a dang HWO for N Erie mentioning the chance at moderate accumulations, but yet there’s one for ski country??

I just asked them this on their Twitter, we’ll see if they respond. Unless they’re seeing something we can see this map makes no sense. Heaviest QPF is metro and Southtowns...

Rain/snow line showing up great and coincides with wunderground temps as you said. The line is also not moving much at all maybe ever so slightly the snow line is creeping towards Buffalo but it’ll be hours before it gets here. Precip has actually arrived here but all rain with a temp of 34 degrees.

Yeah ice is accreting pretty rapidly out there. There’s a really solid glaze on everything and it’s coming down pretty good with the temp holding at 27 degrees.

To me screw all this synoptic crap. Too much has to be perfect (and we just had one this month) for WNY to get a good synoptic storm due to our location relative to the coast and the Appalachian Mts... give me a cutter that goes right to Hudson Bay and gives us a persistent SW flow or let it be warm and sunny!!!

Even the coarse resolution of the GFS shows over 25” , just showing that the pattern is perfect for a long duration lake effect event.

To me this is and will likley always be the number 1 storm in Buffalo history. Just an absolutely insane event. Truly once in a lifetime as BuffaloWeather posted the last time something even remotely close to this event happened was in the 40s...

Ripping my whole drive to work on 219 from West Seneca to Boston. Roads are completely covered and it’s probably coming down close to an inch an hour. Very unexpected.

BUF broke another record today in what has been a string of broken cold and snow records the past few days. Down to 14 as of 7am which beats the old record of 16 set back in 1986.

First single digits of the season here. 9.8 degrees on the thermometer. Amazing cold for this early in the season.
