  1. 4.4” and dumping in Kenmore still. Might hit 6” after all before changeover
  2. Yes they are still hiring. The benefits are unreal. Big reason I left my job of 6 years. I used to think postal workers wouldn’t have a job but after seeing how much mail there still is even in 2020 there’s no way that’s happening anytime soon. The post office is trying more to focus on parcel delivery due to the volume of mail still decreasing over time. From Thanksgiving to Christmas I was averaging 200-300 packages today on top of my mail which was also heavier with people still sending Christmas cards even if it’s 2020 and it seems people only email/text/ Facebook everything now a days.
  3. About 3” down in Kenmore and still dumping straight snow no mix and C.C. Looks like the taint line is staying put or even retreating south a tad south over the Southtowns. This may be one where Hamburg sees 1”, West Seneca 2-3” , and Amherst 5-6”.
  4. No way we hit 6 but about 2” of snow in Kenmore where I’m delivering today and it’s ripping pretty good. Switched to sleet for about 1/2 hr but has switched back to all snow for the last hour. C.C. Looks like the mix line has retreated back to the lakeshore/Southtowns and south for now. Wonder how long before it comes back north .
  5. Yup seeing mPing reports of ZR bear the Erie County PA/Chautauqua County NY border. Not a good sign to see mixing already if you want snow. Going for 1-2” max here now with a changeover possible almost right from the start. The winter of 19-20 lives on!
  6. Looks like it’s already starting off as mixed precipitation down in Chautauqua county right from the get go according to C.C. Hopefully it’s wrong but would love to know if anyone has any ground reports from down there what it’s doing considering it’s supposed to be snow until at least early afternoon, and if it’s starting as mixed precipitation from the get go at 7 am that doesn’t bode well for us especially here in BUF.
  7. I still think we mix for a while. Initial thump of 2-3 inches then we switch over to a mix for a bit then back to snow for another 2-3” once that secondary does take over and winds flip NW. sometimes those backside lake effect/lake enhanced can surprise especially north of Buffalo but I wouldn’t count on more than 3-6” total for the Niagara Frontier. I could see 6-12” over the hills though with much more lake effect/enhancement on the backside with better ratios too.
  8. I’ve never heard winds roar so loud in my life. I bet there were some hurricane force gust here in the last couple hours. Constant things slamming the house. It’s honestly scary.
  9. Euro goes right over BUF. Keeps everything all liquid for everyone except maybe Plattsburgh Pauly. This ones toast.
  10. The dude had almost 400 total yards and a TD.... stop putting all the blame on Allen. Did you not see the collapse by the defense in the entire 2nd half? Josh played far from perfect and made some boneheaded plays but you people criticizing him like he’s EJ Manuel is ridiculous. Dude gives it his all each and every game and yes sometimes it can cost us (that fumble that led to the HOU FG) but I’d take him over 75% of the QB out there right now. He needs a few more pieces around him next year and I guarantee Josh will be much better.
  11. Been snow here since about 515 but only a dusting as temps are still too warm at 33 degrees and it’s not coming down heavy really, just steady. Would be surprised if we finish we more than an inch as the back edge will be through here in the next 1-2 hours.
  12. Actually looks pretty spot on to me for once lol. Think it’s gonna be too warm to really accumulate well unless you have some elevation.
  13. Around 80-90” with most of that coming from “round 1” with nearly 60” in about 24 hours. However that is nearly a once in a lifetime event and you have to live there a long time to make up for all the times you get screwed during 9 outta 10 events that transitions right through South Buffalo and West Seneca. However like you said it seems to be coming increasingly more rare or we just got on a lucky streak with several major events occurring almost every 4-5 years on the dot... 1995, 2000 (November) , 2001 (December), 2006 (October), 2010 (December), 2014 (Snowvember). So according to history WS is due for a big one this season haha! Not so sure it’ll happen this year though as the pattern for the next several weeks looks progressive and mild then she starts to freeze up for the year by Late January; but like the NYS lottery, hey you never know...
  14. Merry Xmas everyone. Forgot to post I am now living in Amherst. Near Amherst High school off Main Street. Probably average a little less snow here than in West Seneca but not much as West Seneca was usually in the transition zone. Watch now 2nd or 3rd week of January will be a blockbuster 4 footer over West Seneca while I watch the clouds off to my south but no big deal, I am a mailman now so warm and no snow is absolutely fine by me when I'm walking 12-16 miles a day lol.
  15. I have this exact station and I absolutely love it. Always accurate. Always reports to Wunderground with no issues and I can see the weather at my house no matter where I am.
  16. This winter really does seem like everything that pops up just keeps disappearing as it gets closer however we are still somehow above average on the season (mostly due to the mid November storm that dumped almost a foot). I’m just shy of 30” on the season but it doesn’t feel like it because every time we get snow it melts or gets washed away within a couple days. I feel like that’s been the theme of the 2010s winters (except for 13/14 & 14/15) is for lots of warm ups and frequent meltdowns with very little long sustained cold. Maybe it’s just my memory but it sure doesn’t seem winters are the way they used to be.
  17. Only 1.5” of some of the heaviest slop I’ve seen. Gotta be like 5:1 stuff but definitely not gonna hit the forecasted 3-5”.
  18. Yep give me 4” of paste and I’d definitely call it a win. Slowly putting together a nice strong start to the season. This event should put me over 30” on the season and it’s not even halfway through December.
  19. Looks like we may already see a changeover by 1pm or so in WNY.
  20. 3.8” as it begins to wind down here. All within 2 hours. Was super impressive. Now we wait for round 2!
  21. Definitely close to 2” an hour!!! At 615 AM EST, A band of lake effect snow producing snow fall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour is located from Angola and Hamburg inland across the Boston Hills and western Wyoming County. This band of moderate to heavy lake effect snow will move north into the Buffalo Metro area by 7 AM. Travel conditions will deteriorate quickly from south to north across the metro area as the morning commute begins. This includes Interstate 90 between exits 57A and 48A, Route 219 from Orchard Park to Boston, and Route 400.
  22. Relax TS!! Lol. Band just started here within the last half hour and we already have an inch no joke. This thing is ripping HUGE flakes straight down with no wind. It’s unreal how quick it’s adding up. At this rate we will have 3 inches or more before the band lifts north and then we still have it’s trek southward this afternoon! Just enjoy it, I haven’t seen such nice flakes in a long long time and there’s nothing better than when it comes straight down with no wind!
