  1. Ended up with 4.2" here. Not bad, it's literally only the middle of December.
  2. People will say it's my "heat tolerance," but out my way I seldom use the AC in May and September, outside of short stretches. In recent years we've even gone well into June without it. Before we got that heatwave this past June in fact it was quite cool. The city is outrageous with how it retains heat. Sometimes I see they are close to 90 at midnight whereas I'll be in the mid 70's.
  3. Wow that's really scary honestly. The question is, why does the runoff that goes into our storm sewers enter our drinking water supply? Storm runoff is supposed to enter local streams/rivers/lakes, or so I thought. Regardless, that water contains a lot of other chemicals as well, think about when a garbage truck leaks on your street, or a car is leaking fluids, then you get a heavy rain that rinses everything down the storm drains.
  4. Crazy. And as mentioned it destroys vehicles. Could be. I don't fully remember how bad the impacts were, but it's silly and wasteful.
  5. I don't understand why this is the new trend. We got 1 inch of snow on Tuesday and the roads look like the middle of February after a blizzard.
  6. Looks like low teens are easy here tonight, single digits on Monday night...also looks like it won't hit 30 tomorrow or Monday. We're not even close to peak snow climo, I think some have expectations way too high this time of year. Just be happy it feels like winter...
  7. Lol, no. Even in my area mid 40's don't average for another couple weeks.
  8. Next week looks pretty chilly. My highest forecast is 52. Tuesday will be a struggle to hit 40. More 20's to come.
  9. Crazy, already had 4 days this month at or below freezing. Today was 28.
  10. Really nice day today. Deep blue skies. Actually got a little sunburn on my face.
  11. Got hit with a nice batch this morning. 0.50 total.
  12. True, but we don't radiate extremely well here. I guess I have a very good tolerance for warmth.. I can sleep easily on a 70 degree night, but I agree the UHI is way worse than out here. Absolutely was. But it's been perfectly comfortable.
  13. I mean we haven't run the AC since like mid August. Sleeping with the windows open ever since.
  14. The weather through Monday looks absolutely stunning. No other way to say it.
  15. No it doesn't, today is beautiful. Not even 80 degrees yet IMBY. Granted I know some places are warmer, but still nothing like the middle of July.
  16. 0.7" here, gladly take it. Been a mix of light to moderate rain, with some brief, but torrential downpours as well.
  17. Feels like I haven't tracked some good convection in ages. Hope today and Saturday pan out!
  18. You would think a dry summer like this would have been warmer. This month especially has been a rare August where the air condition window units were barely used.
  19. Our sunsets in summer are late enough IMO. It's winter that sucks the life out of you, when you could see darkness approaching at like 3PM
  20. Oh c'mon, you of all people know better. Summer ain't over for another month Mountainside park is great in that very area too. You can see NYC from parts of the trails. Well for that matter, you can see the tip of the skyline coming down the top of the Riverdale hill lol.
  21. "Riverdale Next 3 Exits" I see that everyday. But yeah, Fall 2021 was great too. We had that Indian Summer pattern and a warm October.
  22. Hey we need it. Been getting skunked lately with storms. Those amounts seem high though, but I guess we'll see.
  23. Pretty surprised when I took a look at my 10 day. Cool and rainy Wednesday, slight warm up for the weekend, and then a taste of early fall next week? Low 50's showing up at night.
