Just ignored my second poster. I was told it gets easier the second time.
Wait until you’re 20th.

I’m not mad about the weather. It’s beautiful! But I am a little peeved I’ve got stink bugs trying to get in the house.

WOW! I'm waiting to hear the fog horns going off in the distance and I'm 100's of miles from navigable waters lol! VERY foggy out there this am, only white for Christmas we are getting it appears. MAYBE 50 yards visibility if you strain your eyes a bit, be safe out there if you are traveling this morning. Merry Christmas to all!
Thank goodness this little fellow is around!

I start Chapter 33 today: Thankful for another year! And another chance to get it right, lol 32 was rocky...esepcially professionally/emotionally. Yet somehow...said rockiness could serve to cultivate my growth for the future. Here's to being better at age 33!
Merry Christmas everyone!
Happy Birthday! I hope it’s a great year for you.

I have a feeling todays 12z GFS is going to have a significant snowstorm for the region. NOT PSU or JI significant and probably disappointing to Terp because it will mix but still significant
The run isn't done but that storm at the end of the year is close!

Forgive my bad finger drawing on my phone, but I wanted to highlight this shape in the longwave pattern. This is The Look. Northerly flow into the Midwest and Great Lakes supplying cold air, east-west over us and to our north, troughing in the 50/50 region, and then ridging in Greenland for the -NAO. That broad flat bowl look is what @Bob Chill was mentioning recently.
@WxUSAF, I didn't know that you used to work for the White House. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, guys. Definitely him.
nw balt…that’s how I remember it, as well. I think he hinted around it, but eventually opened up.
Storm…yeah, he was a funny dude. Had a pretty cool take on things and never let all of it get to him.
I remember being a little confused about his last posts and then it hit me one day that he hadn’t been around for a bit. Without searching his name, I’m guessing it’s coming up on ten years he’s been gone.
Hope he’s somewhere watching all of us and wondering why TF were still at it.
He was last active in the forum in 2016.

@needbiggerboat was pretty private about his illness, but I remember him opening up once about it. He said it was terminal.

What happened to Leesburg04? He was a legend of sarcasm. Funniest dude in the history of funny dudes.
Unless you’re kidding, I heard that he’s bounced around a bit and presently in the icon of a German grocery store.

If you've got the stats, when is the last time we had more <=32F days than 90+ days?
According to the sites below, 2022 had 38 days of 90 and above at DCA, and 61 below 32.

I'm still interested in the storm right after Christmas. That forecasted midwest low on the gfs is killing our chances, and though the euro isn't good, it doesn't look as bad.
I'm going to keep hoping for a Christmas miracle.

Thank you! Besides the obvious memory of the day and the snow, I think my favorite part was driving from my aunt's house in Frederick to the venue, at 7am, in pouring snow, listening to White Wedding on repeat while I chain smoked in the passenger seat.
Good stuff, though I would have never imagined you as a smoker!

A volcano just erupted in Iceland. Is there any thought how such an event might influence our weather this winter?
I’m not an expert and may be way off, but I doubt it has much if any impact. It looks like a fissure eruption and they don’t have the ash plume like the explosive eruptions.

It's so good to see snow falling at the western resorts this week. Should be fairly decent skiing conditions at least this weekend, and hopefully throughout the holiday week.

The 6z gfs gives us some hope, but I’m praying that it isn’t the high water mark for the weekend model runs. Reading negativity, regardless of whether it’s warranted or not, is getting old. Over 700 days now and still counting…
