It happens in every storm over Carroll county we get lower returns then basically everyone else. I don’t get it.
Except when it snows.

Haven't seen ponding like this IMBY for about a decade. And yeah, REAL worried about a power outage...as I'll be right there with you, @09-10 analogy, manually baling out my 2 foot deep sump pit for however long the power is out. Rain is forecasted to die down around midnight, but knowing my sump pump and seeing the standing water already, it'll be doing overtime for the next 24 hours.
My backyard is in a state that I have never seen in the 20 years I’ve lived here. If I lose my sump pump tonight, there’s no doubt that my basement floods.

It’s not a good sign that there is already standing water in my backyard

RadarScope precip depiction says it's snowing at Mt. PSU.
edit: It also says it's snowing in Hanover and but the cam says otherwise.

I’ll keep my unscientific thoughts out of the real discussion, but next Tuesday is evolving in a way that has my interest.

Don’t worry, there’s plenty of things to make fun of you about, this included.
Just the tip of the iceberg.

I had put this in the wrong thread, so I corrected ->
AACo schools just issued a 2hr early closure for tomorrow. The heckin heck?
And I quote: AACPS: Due to expected heavy rain, strong winds, and deteriorating road conditions
To be fair, counties along the bay will have issues.

You all can make fun of me, but this is good! And about the only thing a Kuerig makes well.

Harford county is trying to trigger @mattie g. They’re closing 3 hours early tomorrow.

Miami at KC playoff game in primetime being aired exclusively on Peacock is pure greed.
Absolute BS. I won't be watching.

Some gelatinous drops mixed in with my rain. Radar depiction is odd. Almost looks like the rain snow line is moving east. But it’s just my inner weenie.
-
Mix of snow and sleet that tries to go all snow in the heavier stuff. Pretty slick in untreated surfaces.

So many straws are being grasped at in the January 6-7 storm thread right now. I threw in the towel 24-36 hours ago, but now the many of the other miserable sods around here are staring relative failure in the face.
Me...

Yea, I don’t mean the western ridges, but maybe the Frederick and Hagerstown valleys. I’m not even sure this is a typical cad setup.
Yeah, not the typical cad setup. The warm intrusion is off the ocean and not from the southwest.

The main idea all week has been for the we’re seeing today to slide right off the coast and a return flow ahead of the next lp. There is the other high building over Canada, but that seems disconnected from the cold we’re seeing today (and too far north). Maybe the higher elevations can still win on cad, though.Higher elevations lose cad the quickest.

Northern Baltimore county was added to the watch. I think that happened with this morning’s package.

Mine is actually 490'. I was a couple of blocks off. Pretty sure that your latitude will crush me this weekend.
