  1. Ended up with the 4th cloudiest January in GRR with only 8% of possible sunshine.  It was a snowy month thought with 31.3" erasing at least some of the yearly snowfall deficit.  Temps ended up 2.3° warmer than normal.  It would have been nice to hold on the the middle of the month weather a little longer.

Lake Effect still ongoing from last Friday's system and subsequent cold air mass. Was down to 1/4 mile visibility just from falling snow until about 1 this afternoon. 22" IMBY so far and still going pretty strong.

I pre-emptively apologize for having the best winter wx climo on the subforum

Similar here but not quite as much.  GRR is reporting 13" snow depth and a peak of 15" a couple of days ago.  28.6" so far this month at the airport which brings us to less than 9" below normal for the season.  Quite the turnaround for a sub 2" December.  Even the monthly temperature departures might go negative after today.  This has been a great week for the west wind favored LES areas for sure.

Ended up with close to 30 inches here.  Beast of a storm.

Is it still snowing up there?  We are still getting snow here.  Somewhere around 2 feet seems like a good guess but with the wind I feel like Hawkeye saying I really have no idea how much has fallen.

GRR hasn't posted any maps yet.  I think they are too hesitant to make a call right now.  The days long LES after this should really help stack up the snow.  Might be time to break out the XC skis.

I want a thing with a big blade to brake off packed down snow and ice.  Snowblower is kind of useless if you procrastinate and pack the snow down hard by driving over it.  With winters lately I’m used to just driving over the snow and waiting for it to melt.

I was not sure it was going to melt before the coming cold so I had to chip it all off manually so that it doesn’t become a skating rink.  I somehow injured my rotator cuff shoving the shovel into the ice.  Ugh.  Maybe should have salted it first to get it softer.

I have a 54" blade but a lot of the time a blower would be much better.
