Yeah, like I said it seems a bit overwrought to me. Facebook is a terrible place to look when trying to render judgements about anyone or anything.

I never detected a single hint of bad vibes or an attitude from anyone in New Hampshire, even when I was there with MD plates when lockdowns across the country were still in full swing. Even being in an area that does not get a lot of long-term tourists and mostly seems like locals (Randolph/Gorham/Berlin), it has been fine. To be honest, it seems like the locals have been bending over backwards to be nice because they all want me to spend money on their services and at their shops given the crushed economy up there. Maybe it is different in VT. There is definitely a different feel between the two states; even my tone deaf self can pick it up. But this all feels overwrought to me. If VT guys are like Powderfreak and Phish it seems like a really chill place. LOL

Buy a car and put VT plates on it.

LOL yeah. I love J.Spin’s posts but his version of family skiing is clearly far beyond what we are doing. 2 dozen nice downhill days on groomed trails sounds about right for us.

I’ll be doing my part for Cannon, Bretton Woods, and Wildcat.

We are assuming the lodge stuff will be restricted/closed or at least really annoying. So we are planning to go direct from the car to the slopes as much as possible. I'm getting all 4 kids some equipment at the local ski swap place so we don't have to mess with rentals of any sort.

If this reality is a simulation, it needs a reboot and an HDD defrag.

Chutter's is pretty awesome. We always go to Littleton to hit Depot and Lowes rather than North Conway.

We don't go down to Jackson or North Conway very much. Too commercial and touristy feeling to me. I prefer the rugged, blue-collar vibe in Coos.

I am getting a tankless propane water heater installed up in Randolph soon. I love them. I have switched all my water heaters over.

Looks like 8.33" in Randolph over the past 30 days. 4.43" of that came in a few hours on 7/14 when my driveway turned into a river.

Randolph, NH received 207" out of that putrid look. All snow weenies should head north if they want to escape the misery.

Yes, my mother in law is like that. I have seen her wearing wool socks, heavy stockings, and a shawl wrapped tightly around her in some crazy high temps/dews. I would definitely succumb to heat stroke in the same setup. It seems like if there is any kind of "breeze" hitting her (like from a ceiling fan) she starts to shiver even if the ambient temp is 80+.

This weather is for old ladies in sweaters and thin-blooded men.

Seems like a reasonably cool August could “save” 2020 in the same way.

DC is in the 70s in January all the time now.

Sometimes you can see them. Between two shallower areas and/or a lot of foam trailing out in one spot but nowhere else around are sure signs. You can also look at other people. If there is a big gap in the crowd for seemingly no reason that's another bad sign.

So is this just some freakishly hot July or are the averages bogus? It would seem this July is crushing the records up there.
