  1. None of this also explains why the vote tallying in PHL and other places was simply stopped last night... has that ever happened before? Just taking a break on counting over night after Election Day?
  2. https://www.npr.org/2020/10/23/926258497/when-will-mail-in-ballots-be-counted-see-states-processing-timelines Handy chart. Not sure what Michigan's problem is in this case.
  3. That applies to 7 counties which are all Trump country. Not Philly. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/7-pennsylvania-counties-wait-until-after-election-day-to-count-mail-ballots/
  4. I think the question that will get to the SCOTUS will be "what are they counting" and "are they valid ballots." No doubt something is being counted deep inside Philly, Detroit, and Milwaukee. Fingers and toes perhaps. They don't seem to be having these counting issues in any states that were decided early last night. Very interesting...
  5. Why is it that the only places that are struggling to count the mail-in ballots and needed to "take a break" last night are the exact same places where Biden needs to the most votes to close the deficits? That seems a bit too on the nose to be a coincidence... FL, CA, TX, NY... all big states that seem to have handled their mail-in ballots just fine. I would expect massive legal challenges to what's going on today.
  6. Not gonna lie there are some shady looking dudes in Berlin.
  7. Never knew it was so dangerous here. I talked to a nurse who works at the hospital in Berlin and she said she hasn't seen a single COVID case yet.
  8. I still can’t get over people from Coos needing to quarantine due to “high rates of COVID.” Just a crazy mentality.
  9. Agreed, no one was at the resorts logging the names and addresses of the leaf peepers. But that is what is supposed to be happening for ski season. But I gotta defer to PF here, he is the literal expert on this topic of VT ski resort policies and plans.
  10. Got up to 30 today but back to 24 already. Gonna be chilly tonight and then shorts for a while. LOL
  11. I don't think they were actively requiring day trip leaf peepers to sign waivers and hand over a bunch of contact information, though. Yes, people can simply ignore these state guidelines, but they seem more black and white and direct than we have seen so far. The proof will be in the numbers, though, as you say.
  12. If the resort has to close because people get COVID and you lied on your forms... I am not sure the resort would sue, but people need to realize this statement very clearly in writing puts the liability burden on the resorts, and then ultimately on the consumers. It’s not just implied anymore. I would expect the resorts to enforce this strictly given the repercussions of not doing so. No more “wink and nod” stuff about how “yes there are rules but they are not being enforced and so therefore it’s no big deal.” I have heard that attitude a lot to explain away these strict measures since the spring.
  13. It might work out OK for the locals up there who are just skiing and riding, but the outlook for the employees and economic community that relies on out-of-state visitors may not like it so much. And it isn’t like there aren’t other options for mountains. NH is right next door. Skiing seems like a low-risk activity to me.
  14. Under that policy, if you ignore the travel rules and the resort traces an outbreak back to you, you could be in serious legal trouble. It basically passes all liability for outbreaks down to the customers.
  15. I have to say VT seems to have gone a bit overboard here. They even have Coos County in the red. Come on...
  16. VT should just come out and say “if you are not from here stay away.” They have Coos County NH in the red too. That’s just silly. It’s hard to expect people to roll the dice and go anyway because you never know when they will suddenly begin enforcing these rules.
  17. Sun came out briefly, but now snow is returning. Looks like starting tomorrow it's back to early fall weather until after mid-month.
  18. When I went to vote early there was definitely a lot of energy in the crowds. People are really invested in this election.
  19. Still good snow here but nothing on radar for the past hour and a half. Probably over 5 inches storm total now.
  20. It just keeps snowing here. Down in Milan/Berlin/Gorham they didn't even get an inch from the entire event. That's why I cast some doubt on that upslope paper from GYX posted earlier. Gorham is not really comparable to Randolph in the upslope department, it would seem.
  21. That’s what we call a “winner’s problem”
