It wasn’t the clouds that did it, it was your location compared to the MCS.  Was cloudy here all day and we had one of the longest lasting/largest tornadoes this area has ever seen just a couple miles down the road.

whatever it was I’m glad…hope you and everyone you know is safe…

Oh yeah...I hear you on grabbing all the sodas when you get them for $1 a case or something. I'm all about profit margin on this shite.

We do the 1/4 lb Costco patties. A lot of the standard stuff, as well - hot dogs, candy, snow cones, drinks - but we have a neighborhood family who offered to make breakfast burritos for A Meets. Those things are MONEY.

Travelling tacos (taco meat and toppings served in bags of Doritos or Fritos) are probably the biggest seller for us. Amazingly, Cup Noodles sell like hotcakes to the bigger kids, even on 95-degree B Meet afternoons. Kids are so weird.

We're talking about doing pancake-sausage roll-ups next year...

@MacChump I can't thank you enough for this recommendation.  I bought the Yellowstone/Teton tour and the Black Hills/Badlands tour.  They were great.  I can't think of a better way to go short of getting on a guided tour.

glad you found it useful, sounds like you had a great trip!

    Earthquake? Meh

    Happy Friday HH.

Enjoying an Oh-J DIPA from Pine Brewing. This is a classic NE IPA. Very well done.

Good stuff. I’ve got a DDH one of those in the fridge. Toppling Goliath King Sue for me right now though.

I've got a friend who grew up in Philly and is still a big sports fan of all their teams.  He remembers one football game where people were throwing ice balls onto the field, and another where the crowd booed Santa Claus.  Though to be fair, from what he said, apparently Santa was flipping off the crowd!!  Only in Philly?!?!

Wait, what do you have against people named Eugene??

first of all, your friend must be old af…

second of all eugene levy can do no wrong so I’m down with him

My son and I went to a ravens game in December 2019. I was definitely worried about the environment, but it was fine and positive for the fan experience. That may be because it was 35F and pouring rain though…

i went to a ravens-eagles game years ago and the pre-teen kid in back of me was literally cursing me out for wearing an eagles t-shirt while his dad laughed and egged him on

    it was a preseason game

WFT games i've written off for years.  mainly due to the current owner being a massive douche and the product on the field and the price.  But I don't even want to go if its free and they are in the NFC champ.  Why?  The fans are some of the worst ever.  A massive mix of home and away and this mentality that a ticket gives you the right to get shitfaced and act like a massive clown.

Going to a Nats, Wiz/Caps, DC United game is infinitely better for my kids and myself.

But I call boshie on flyer games being nice.  I've heard those fans.  :P

oh, none of the fans were *nice*...you hear all kinds of shit at all of those games, but my girls hear worse stuff at home in school...it's the drunken violence that separates an Eagles tailgate from the others that i don't feel like dealing with anymore, especially with kids in tow...

My kids love Camden yards. Can't wait to take them when the place is actually rocking. They might have to take me by the time there good again lol.

From what I've seen over the years at fed ex field I would never take them to a football game at the ages their at now. 10 and 6.

i've taken my girls (ages 13 and 11 now) to Phillies, Sixers, Flyers, Union, USWNT, USMNT games without any issues...always avoided Eagles games...they are probably old enough now but i really have no desire to take them through the hell gauntlet that is an Eagles tailgate to get into the stadium

if you're confident in the tower engineering the climb is really not bad so long as you're always locked into steel at all times.  Key is to relax and focus.  Newbies tend to grip the hell out of the ladder wrungs and get the acid burn in their forearms.

One of my first climbs ever I had to run cable to a GPS radio requiring completely letting go of the tower to lean back and trusting your harness to perform.  That was a bit nerve wracking and not sure I'll ever be totally comfortable with it.

holy shit i didn't know this is what your name meant...i always thought you were just a big gary burghoff fan
