  1. Yes, but that is the distribution side of things, not operating the grid. Texas had a grid capacity issue, not a distribution infrastructure issue. The more analogous party in new england to the Texas issue is ISO-NE who operates our grid. To your point distribution across New England is crap ( managed by CMP, Eversource, National grid, etc) Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  2. A concern, but we are a little more resilient to cold temps than ERCOT (tx). Their nat gas generation and supply fell off line due to cold temps, while we are weatherized however just constrained from a supply perspective (pipeline capacity, competition with heating, etc). Most of our generators are dual fuel which means we can run on oil, making us sensitive financially (running on oil is expensive) but less from a generating capacity and resiliancy side. That speaks nothing to the distribution side of the grid where we suck, but that is different from blackouts and load shedding like ERCOT had to do. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  3. Vacation flight out of pvd at 6 am with a tight connect and no flight options after the connection for 24 hours. Starting to get uneasy (good for everyone else though). Wait a few model runs and hope to beat the cold press out of town, or try and make alternate arrangements? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  4. Nothing like Taunton, but a good blanket here Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  5. Just walked the dog. Solid rates and some good drifts forming. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  6. Temps down to 18 at the home weather station in the north end of Narragansett. Wind ripping and good amount of snow, but flake size is small so doesn't fully feel like it is fully nuking. Not sure how much because if the drifts, two stairs covered on the front porch. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  7. Hanover 31" Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  8. Flurries just got a bit steadier here in S. RI. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  9. We can find some shelter from N/NNE winds down here. Interesting and you can really see the impact on the solutions of the dual lows and the west vs eats track, Wavewatch3 ( off of the GFS) has practically has no swell ( < 2@10 SE), while Euro derived modeling is ~ 5@11
  10. Messes up the SE fetch for waves. Trying to get a surf in Saturday afternoon if we can get some swell to fill in. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  11. So stoked for everyone on the propsects. Feel ashamed that the jackpot fetish has me looking angrily at the southern RI snowhole on the qpf outputs. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  12. A few waves today Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  13. Had a clean register of the volcano Shockwave westward propagation ( coming around the earth) on the weather station last night around midnight. Pretty cool. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  14. Tsunami buoys in Atlantic measuring a signal too Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  15. Did anyones weather station see a pressure spike? I saw some cool screenshots of people posting signatures in CO and FL. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  16. Seems like only 3 inches or so in Southern West Bay RI Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  17. The dual low, elongation really messes up the wind field and southerly fetch for wave making. Its been such a bad fall, winter so far wave wise... Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  18. Wind started to rip in Southern RI. Home weather station just gusted to 38 mph which is the highest it has registered this year. Slightly sheltered in our neighborhood, but some good gusts. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  19. New England representing in the 2020 SAIDI data. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  20. Block island buoy had a 16 ft swell on it from the north when I checked, 2hich you don't see too often. I also saw pictures of surfable waves on north facing land in Narragansett bay. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  21. My weather station picked up 6.8 inches in Narragansett. 5.6 of it after midnight. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  22. Might just be Pour Judgement Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  23. Radar looks like the typical narrgansett bay snow hole dynamic? Or will that fill in before the dryslot hits? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
