  1. Good morning @MAG5035 , congrats on the snow! Do you think that the solid deform band with heavy precipitation in southern PA will changeover to snow this morning?
  2. The chance of a changeover to snow tomorrow morning is increasing for even the LSV. The 0z NAMs & even the 18z Euro bring a flip to snow tomorrow morning. Even if it doesn’t accumulate much, it would be nice to see some snow in the air for a couple of hours. Here’s to the 12k NAM for the win !
  3. Good Saturday morning everyone ! We might be able to flip to a little snow tomorrow morning according to this morning’s run of the 12k & 3k NAM. JB had mentioned a few times this week that he thought that there was a chance of a flip to a little snow for places north of the MD line with this event. He thought there was a chance because of the storm track & there being just cold enough air to cause the changeover. Earlier this week, a few models showed us getting a little snow out of this event. Let’s see if any more models agree later today.
  4. I agree that the first week of December looks very active with plenty of cold air & winter storm chances. The 18z GFS gets our winter storm chances going at the end of next weekend. It would be nice to get on the snow board early in December. I think that we will have plenty to track as we enjoy our Turkey this week.
  5. Yes, I agree. It all depends on the track of the initial low & then how quickly the primary low transfers its energy to the coast. The models will probably waffle back & forth for another couple of days with the track. Hopefully we are in a good spot to get a little snow by Saturday night.
  6. It would certainly help to avoid the dreaded SE Ridge showing up. If the pattern ends up as relatively flat, with a general west to east storm track, we could luck into a light to moderate snow event with the help of a well placed & timed High to our north. If the SE Ridge shows up, then we just get watch one cutter after another.
  7. That’s great! You & I will get accused of jinxing this winter! I also bought a snow blower a couple of weeks ago.
  8. There are some light snow flurries right now in Marysville! I was not expecting anything today. Maybe we can see a little more light snow tomorrow night? The pattern looks to be very active later this week & Thanksgiving week. Hopefully we can time something just right & get our first legit snow event to track this season!
  9. The 12z Euro Control run today has a Thanksgiving coastal snow storm treat for us as we prepare for our turkey feast ! Just as @MAG5035 said earlier, The pattern looks good for the second half of November. We should have chances to track for winter weather beginning later this week & into Turkey Day week. Oh yeah, here is the Euro Control Thanksgiving storm just to warm up our appetite for snow!
  10. Yes sir ! The pattern looks ripe for some winter weather opportunities starting next week. The 18z Happy hour GFS delivered snow for next weekend! I would sign up for this & run !
  11. Yes, my 25 minute drive turned into a 2 hour adventure back home. That storm turned out to be the most snow that we got in a single storm last season. The rest of the winter we had to nickel & dime our way to get to our 40 inch seasonal total in Harrisburg.
  12. CTP likes the chance of seeing a little snow tomorrow morning. The latest NAM agrees as well. I am hoping to score a few tenths of snow & maybe see the grass or car tops lightly covered. At least we should see some snowflakes in the air for maybe a couple of hours, which is good for the first half of November!
  13. Yes, absolutely frigid for the first half of November ! The 0z NAMs still like the idea of many of us getting a little snow on the scoreboard by Tuesday morning.
  14. The 6z NAM puts most of Schuylkill County in a good spot ! I’m just hoping to see if snow for a couple of hours & maybe get on the scoreboard with a couple of tenths of an inch at MDT. Maybe it will turn into a car topper & cover the grassy surfaces as well.
  15. Yes, I hope so as well! I’m from the thread just up the road from you guys in Central Pennsylvania. I love Winter weather & I have learned a lot from the great posters in your thread over the years. The positive & informative posting style, mixed with a good amount of personality, makes the posts of @Bob ChiII , @psuhoffman , & @showmethesnow , along with many others on here, a great read everyday in the fall & winter. I usually only lurk here, & just post in my own thread, but I just wanted to say thanks to the good posters in here. Also, in the spirit of @Jebman , I hope that we all have a great winter season & all get crushed with a cold, snow filled year !
  16. The 18z NAM has upped the ante for our possible Tuesday snow event. It slowed the progression of the front & allowed the colder temps to infiltrate more quickly. Let’s hope this trend continues. This looks more like what the models were showing a few days ago for this time period. Hey @MAG5035 , what are your thoughts on this possible event ?
  17. The 12z NAM & GFS both agree on many of us getting a dusting to an inch or 2 of snow early Tuesday. The GFS LSV jackpot looks to be right over the home of @pasnownut
  18. Great to see you back on here ! I saw my first flakes as well this morning! Hopefully next week we can score our first measurement of snow! The best part is that this is all preseason tracking. Any snow that we get during the next few weeks is a bonus.
  19. Some of us might see our first flakes at least in the air on Thursday night. Hopefully this coming Tuesday delivers our first accumulation of snow. The models all show some type of storm in our region. There is plenty of cold air on the way. It will all come down to how much phasing takes place & the timing & the final storm track. Either way, it is great to be back doing some early season winter storm tracking in early November yet again!
  20. It sure would be great to score some early season snow again this year. As you said, there should be some extraordinary cold air around by this coming weekend. There appears to be a few chances at snow, so hopefully we all cash in & get on the board!
  21. This thread should be very busy this week! At the very least, many folks in CTP have a decent chance to see their first snowflakes flying this season. If the cold air press times up well with the precip, many of us could be in business for our first accumulation of snow very early in the season yet again. This pattern could also provide more wintry weather again next week along with some impressive cold air for this time of year. It’s time to get our winter weather game face on everyone!
  22. The 12z Euro today delivered on the snow threat for Thursday night into early Friday with a storm tracking to our southeast while cold high pressure is moving in to our north & west. I would take this solution & run !
  23. You might be our thread’s version of @Jebman ! That man loves cold & snow more than just about anyone!
  24. You sir are brave. We have had several nights the last 2 weeks that went into the 30’s & 40’s.
  25. Happy snow tracking season everyone! This morning certainly was chilly & frosty! We need to watch the storm around the end of this week. The ensembles & Ops are showing CTP on the southern edge of a little snow by next weekend. As of now, the models show the better chance for snow for NY state & parts of New England. Either way, the cold shots appear to be lining up for the first half of November. Hopefully we can score some early snow just like last year!
