    I wore shorts today & enjoyed a little time outside. Beautiful day! I did this while actively tracking the coming pattern change. Winter will soon be back and we will be busy tracking snow!

    Our good & great Winters have long breaks. I could go Winter by Winter to give example after example, but it’s probably no use because some people have no memory or sense of history. All that matters to some people is what happened 5 minutes ago! History just must have started last year!

    Yes for Early to mid week…. BUT…. Winter storm chances return starting the end of this week and beyond…just in time for the Farm Show!

    The 12z GFS has Susquehanna Valley special for the Friday winter chance.

    The 12z Euro also is showing a signal for this time period next Sunday night.

    The 12z Euro showed a little interest in the Thursday night/Friday chance that the GFS has liked on & off over the last few days.

    The 12z Canadian has a snow chance for us next Sunday night.

    The fog is nasty! We we’re on I-81 between Mechanicsburg & Harrisburg & you can barely see 50 yards in front on you. Please be careful if traveling today!

    Oh well, the 12z GFS has no such storm that the 6z advertised. Lol, let’s see what the other models show and the real 18z.

    The 6z GFS was once again full of opportunities for Winter weather even after the chance next Friday. Hopefully we get through the warm up & go right into Winter storm mode!

    Hopefully the 6z GFS gets some company with some other models supporting it today for the chance next Friday.

    The rest of the 18z GFS run shows the potential of the pattern if all goes well after this warm up & reshuffle this coming week. The GFS run has a couple of Winter storm opportunities & ends well at day 16 with a good look. It’s fantasy land of course, but it sure would be fun to be lining up potential events to track. Hopefully we are busy tracking on here next week & beyond…

    The 18z GFS says that we might be back to tracking a Winter storm chance for later next week…

    The 0z and 6z GFS both show a storm potential way out in fantasy land around January 8th. We can only hope at this point that we are back in business right away when the pattern turns more favorable. Lots of time of course, but it’s better to see this showing up as a possibility instead of a continuing torch.

    It looks like we warm to above normal temperatures on Thursday. This warm up should last for a week or so. There is light at the end of the tunnel. The last few days, the ensembles have been showing a turn to a more favorable pattern beginning between the 7th & 10th. There is fairly good agreement on the GEFS, EPS & Canadian ensembles to have some confidence that a pattern with chances for Winter weather should be underway for the second week of January.
