    Yes, it’s nice that long range pattern change tracking actually took place & produced ground truth snow with 3 events in the last 2 weeks.

    It’s 8 days away & close enough to keep an eye on for some small changes. This could morph into an interior wintry event for us, but I-95 could struggle this time.

    GFS & Canadian at 12z still track a low next Sunday off to our south & east. Cold enough air is not too far away & it wouldn’t take much to get those of us in the interior in the game for a wintry event if things work out right.

    MDT got .4 more of snow last night with the streamer to bring their event total to 2.9” of snow. They are above normal snow for the month to date at 9.3, which is 4.3 above the normal of 5.0 in January through yesterday. The seasonal total of 9.3 is now only 1.1 below the normal average seasonal total to date of 10.4” of snow through yesterday’s date.

    Final total here in Marysville after last night’s streamer was 3.9”.

    It was a beautiful snow show last night with that streamer. It delivered another 1 inch here & really was a great end to a Wintry day!

    0z GFS has the 30th coastal storm chance with a low on the Outer Banks of NC.

    Light snow continues in Marysville. I am eyeballing another .5 to 1 inch with this band over the last hour or so.

    Wow! That’s great! CTP radar wasn’t showing much, so I was curious how far SE this band would reach.

    Yes! Easily the heaviest snow of the day for the last 20 minutes & still ongoing. All surfaces covered & roads caved again. At least a couple of tenths so far with this band.

    Snow shower streamers look to have survived the mountains & are inbound for parts of the LSV. Light snow has resumed in Marysville out ahead of this.

    The late January period has ensemble support on the GEFS & EPS today.

    I just got to look at this beauty of a 18z GFS late January snow storm potential. At the least, it’s something to track. Back here in the interior, we could score if this type of storm were to actually develop. The snow map was pretty nice for us, but it buried NE this run.

    I need MDT to find 1 more tenth of snow this evening to get us over 9 inches for the season to date!

    It’s all good! I enjoyed this week of tracking for sure. Best week with 2 storms since February of 2021 ! I’m ready to track more snow!
