This has the potential to be worse than Katrina. If this makes landfall just west of NOLA there’s nothing but <5’ sea level marshland between NOLA and the storm surge. The first barrier will be the levees along the Mississippi.
I can’t wait to get there. We were supposed to this year but canceled because of covid. Pain in the ass getting there when you can’t fly out of Toronto.
Anyone else following Ida? that track has potential to absolutely crush new orleans if it rapidly intensifies. Still a long ways out and anything can happen but now forecasted to be at cat 3 with the northeast eyewall on the wrong side of NO.
I think the mortality and hospitalization rate of terrorism is much higher than that of covid. Luckily terrorism is much less contagious.
