  1. This is making my point. If you don't want get Covid/seriously ill then you get vaccinated. Just the same that if you don't want lung cancer then you don't smoke. Or if you don't want to be morbidly obese then you cycle. I'm not an anti vaxxer, just pro liberty and choice. (I'm vaxed and had covid) NYS is helping that right along, almost 2k workers being fired because of not being vaxed in the middle of a pandemic. If anything its the feeling of being unappreciated that is driving this, not the fear of being exposed to covid. Most probably have been. My wife hasn't lost any of her team members because of covid but she will lose some if the religious exemption doesn't become permanent.
  2. I wish more doctors took this approach when talking to their morbidly obese patients instead of prescribing cholesterol and blood pressure meds. I still think vax needs to be a choice. Just the way it’s a choice to allow someone to eat themselves to death or become an alcoholic or etc. Heart disease and obesity kill more people but we can’t politicize that.
  3. Ha. We were directly diagonally from you, our seats are in 237. Unfortunately though this is our first year with seasons and were in row 4 and still get rained on. We stayed dry through the first half and then my wife threw out her poncho at halftime because it got alcohol on it....needless to say I was soaked in the second half.
  4. And of course this disaster is happening. https://buffalonews.com/business/union-workers-at-mercy-hospital-go-on-strike-as-talks-fail-to-yield-deal/article_934e668c-228e-11ec-bc6c-dfe65ed3281b.html#tracking-source=home-top-story
  5. I'm curious to see how well all that works to get people to work. As it is there are already a ton of openings for RNs at both Kaleida and Catholic without the firing of non vaccinated. Does calling an emergency suddenly spur people to apply? Are we actively pursuing citizens from other countries to fill these jobs?
  6. Thoughts anyone? https://www.wivb.com/news/new-york/gov-hochul-declares-state-of-emergency-to-deal-with-healthcare-staffing-shortage/
  7. Yep same. Meanwhile we've had an outbreak of Covid where I work, all among vaccinated employees. One had moderate symptoms, and also had covid last spring. Guess its not as uncommon as I thought. https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7032e1.htm#T1_down
  8. Ya I cant believe how cheap some of the tix were going for. Only one couple who sat next to us the first game was back for this game. I should have got my tix refunded and bought second hand each game
  9. So while 90% of mine died and I have a ton of firewood some of the smaller trunked ones survived. Be curious to see if their offspring are also resistant or if it was just by chance. According to this the science says they might. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/09/190909170754.htm
  10. Well in that case we need to go full Goodfellows on this guy. Im sure you’ve already done this but make sure you write about that everywhere you can, Yelp, google reviews etc. Be sure to use the guys name because like you said he’ll probably just start another business.
  11. Yep same here, one of my maples is completely bare. Kinda sad as it normally turns a vibrant red in the fall.
  12. The guy might as well said that the virus was engineered to go after the right, being especially deadly among the 60+ crowd who are largely conservatives. I think you can find bat shit craziness like this on both sides though, its not just the right.
  13. mmmm bathwater. We need to start lobbying for a bunch of nuclear reactors to keep lake erie humming like that all winter long.
  14. Yep, riding a motorcycle I feel it every morning. Its literally a wall of warmth that starts pretty abruptly at transit road. If I head south on transit from wherle it doesnt chill off until you get to seneca with a few pockets of "country air" in between.
  15. My theory has been that heat islands play a much larger role in the data acquisition and/or warming than is being credited. The problem is that no one will buy an anti urban sprawl campaign when the constituents largely live in urban areas.
  16. IMO there's a bunch of ways to approach your career. My wife and I have always been highly motivated to keep being challenged and have each taken on new roles every three years or so. This has worked well for us but you have to want that. I think every time we've gotten comfortable we've quickly gotten bored. How did this opportunity arise? Did you seek it out? I didn't ever consider management until I was tapped on the shoulder for it and then found that not only I excelled at it but really liked it. Monetarily that's a huge jump when you consider that it will grow exponentially baring its not a shithole company.
  17. Yes sir, this is our first year with seasons. Last week was great until the blocked punt.
  18. I hope next weeks game is chilly so I cant make some chili for tailgating.
