I think Lee is gonna struggle anyway, and weaken substantially by the time there is any landfall up this way or in Atlantic CA, much more so than if he was a powerhouse like he looked like back on Friday. He’s a shell of his former self now, and I don’t think that’s gonna change much the rest of the week. -

Agreed…definitely an outlier at the moment. So sad, because there was a time that if the Euro came in with that type of solution at this lead…you could bet the others would follow hard. Let’s see if it can sniff out a coop here?

Ya, cuz Ian last year in Florida didn’t deviate at all 5 days out…lol. Was supposed to decimate Tampa, and ended up much farther south down in Naples/ Englewood area. Tampa has dodged more bullets than we have. It’ll shift around some more…this isn’t completely figured out.

There Will Be changes between now and Saturday…when does the forecast at 5 days out stay exactly as it is? Never. The changes coming just may not be what you want…depending on ones perspective?

In St Pete Beach for a destination wedding…ya want to talk about dews??? Holy smokes this Place is an oven. Last week was bad at home(like here), but it never ends here until November.

We’ve been trying to tell everybody for years this. Thing never recovered from its first upgrade from way back. It used to be the bomb…2012 nailed Sandy from 8 days out. It couldn’t do that now to save its life. Now it’s just another model.. at best.

Don’t tell that to the people and towns in the Bahamas, that got utterly flattened 3 yrs ago…there was nothing left to those poor places. Dorian was a total Monster!

I know you’re not..but that can change too. I’m not excited per se either, just intrigued currently. There are some ingredients there that can be big players, whether they do is yet to be determined.

Keep it relatively weak for a while…there’s plenty of time for strengthening as we approach the weekend and next week.

Well it’s staying intriguing…all you can ask at this point. There will be other surprises(like Margot, good or not) coming along too that we can’t see just yet, that will be influential as well.

Of course it was meh….that place only gets sunny, breezy and 75 everyday, so when a minimal Tropical system hits there, that’s like a Cat 3 for that boring weather place. Point is…it happened.

Made landfall on Long Island and then in CT. Some info I looked up said cat 3 on landfall in LI. Some other info said cat 2 on landfall. NHC said cat 3 on first landfall in LI, but then it made another landfall in Groton, CT. Whether it was a cat 3 at that point I don’t know…? But whatever..it’s close I guess.

I think he knows. We all know. But it does happen. And it will happen again. And there are some big players that look to be evolving in the modeling. So I think that’s what most of us are talking about. Sure, there’s a much higher chance it misses us, but the chances are not zero, and they seem to be going up some of late. So we play along for a while, until it becomes definite it misses. I mean, San Diego got a Hurricane a couple weeks ago…Boring frieken San Diego..let that sink in for a minute.

Officially For SNE, it wasn’t a major. It was a major for you on LI, but it was a cat 2 when it came into CT. So technically it’s at 85 yrs for a major for SNE.

A massive winter storm for SNE…? C’mon Brett you’re better than this, we see one almost every year in SNE. Sometimes a couple. And it’s exponentially easier to get a Blizzard to hit us, than a Major Hurricane. Haven’t had a true major H hit SNE in 85 yrs. We’ve had dozens of big winter storms in that same time period.

It would be devastating….but I wouldn’t be worried at all about a cat 4. And a Cat 3 is almost a unicorn up here too(except 38 and the ones from the colonial period). But a strong cat 1 or 2 certainly isn’t impossible, and that would be a big hit with our heavily treed and populated area. But I’ll roll the dice with this one, and hope we break the hurricane Drought.
