  1. 6z and 18z are wonky more often than not…if it’s still there at 12z, that’ll be a positive.
  2. I can Understand that. But a pattern change to better/good does not guarantee snow in yours, my or anybody’s backyard. Sure, I’d much rather have a good pattern because it certainly stacks the deck in our favor, but one does Not necessarily follow the other.
  3. Well that’s fine. But sometimes it doesn’t snow in a good pattern. And sometimes it snows in bad patterns.
  4. Sometimes ya do Kevin. And that’s a fact. Great patterns don’t guarantee snow.
  5. I don’t think they get that though…
  6. Lol..the cutter is 24 hrs deeper into the future…so maybe not? But there’s always an easier shot for a cutter, than a coastal in any given pattern due to the spatial differences between the two.
  7. Great post. Thanks for chiming in with some nice reason. We have a lot of silly folks in here, that like to look at 14-16 day op runs..and if it shows warm and rain they then run and post what it shows. If it shows the opposite(a snowstorm/colder), and somebody posts it, they laugh and weenie the poster because it’s a two week OP run. It’s become a sad dynamic unfortunately. Now we have folks canceling winter on 12/27. Lol.
  8. Don’t worry ..that will be gone the next run. Those who want to cancel…I say do it!! Let’s have it boys. Cancel it up. That’s exactly what we need to shake things up. So let’s have the cancels. Anthony you can have the honor of being the first to cancel it.
  9. On December 27th? WTF happened to you pal? Man you’re in a bad place. But if you cancel…no more posting the rest of the winter…you out if you cancel.
  10. So you’re predicting a no snow/ratter for 23-24 on 12/27?
  11. Nothing could hold it for more than one run though.
  12. Nope…that was the Virga storm here….snowed for hrs but couldn’t break through the dry air over here…so frustrating the amount of precip we wasted to that. Ended up with like 6-8” I think. Groton and New London/SE corner of CT had a great storm with that though. Think they got 20” or even a bit more. No virga for them there.
  13. Yes, about 8-10” of arctic sand here…was a very big disappointment here. Especially since a blizzard warning was issued here, with forecast of at least double the amount we actually got. Off to the SW got buried-NJ and NYC. And it also was coming off the huge disappointment year of 09-10 where the mid Atlantic got absolutely obliterated, and SNE got completely skunked…so we started off with the same general idea on that first significant system…so it was spooky, and a lot of folks were like WTF…here we go again. But then Jan ‘11 came a calling.
  14. But Jerry there was no white Xmas here in 2010, maybe where you are. And yes, I’m very much aware of the turn around in Jan 11, that’s why I used that example, because it wasn’t a good December here(maybe it was where he is)?, but my point was January went crazy. And I used 2002-03 because it wasn’t historic, but it was a great year. And Will included 02-03 too if you go back and read his post. Because he was whining about folks just using historic years. so I pointed out years that were great for him/most of us. The whole point is…he’s been spoiled over a two decade span, and doesn’t understand his climo.
  15. Plenty good imo Jerry…the point was made. 2010 had Boxing Day…other than that it sucked(and that buried NYC and NJ). Then it all melted a few days later with a warm and wet bare ground on NYE in ‘10. His ideas are piss poor at best. He’s lost and downtrodden.
  16. Stop reading these Twitter idiots…
  17. Law of averages, and last year being so bad…Mother Nature likes to even things out most times…average snow incoming.
  18. Yes sir, I so hope for their sake too. But I travel a good distance for the great conditions, and have been for almost 35 years, so personally I am not worried in the least for where I ride. But I agree with you wholeheartedly on your local clubs.
  19. To be totally honest Kev, that was me, and I’m still not worried at all. Normal/average snow for us is a very good chance imo. Decembers usually suck in strong Ninos, so this is not a surprise. Things will change around.
  20. LolNahh…it will shape up fine, it always does.
  21. Ya, I’m not worried at all over the sledding season. It’ll take off the next couple weeks, and all will be right with the world for us sledders.
  22. Hey if you go above normal again…what’s the gripe? I’ll sign for that in a heartbeat.
  23. Maybe for you. Not for all of us.
