I’m sure there’s been some others in my 56 years of life that have been close, but this certainly has been stellar. I mean since mid August here(almost 10 weeks) it’s been absolutely ideal. Certainly nothing to complain about. But I think we’re all ready for some storminess in the not to distant future.
But I’ll take another few weeks of this to get us close to thanksgiving, then we can start the storms up some.
But Who really cares if you get a frost, and then it warms up after. I don’t. My only point was we’ve had a frost, and growing season is done here. Maybe not everywhere, but in a alot of places it’s over. At 980ft if the eggplants are still growing that’s cool too. But most places in New England the growing is finished. And that’s a fact.
Of course, we are getting past peak now, leaves are dropping fast, and the oaks with the brown are starting to take center stage now.
But Late last week, and especially over the weekend and into Monday, it was spectacular.
I’m thrilled. Who doesn’t like this? 74 here. About 8 degrees cooler than yesterday. Feels great. However, The hype is sickening, and so is the selling of a winter season that won’t start for 8 weeks yet.
Just remember one thing…the Tropical season was supposed/forecast to be off the charts active. All the ingredients were there for it to be an incredibly active year. And How did that work out? Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.
