Picked up only .10" this morning. Waiting to see if that line of storms to the west of me hold together.

What a time for the A.C. (only ~11.5 years old) to suddenly stop working. Dewpoints here are in the high 70s.
It had never given me any problems whatsoever up through earlier today. The inside unit’s blower is moving air but the air coming out through the vents isn’t cool. The outdoor unit is also running.
There’s no icing evident. The filter had been replaced just 3 weeks ago and is hardly dirty. The brand is Trane.Sounds like a leak.

Picked up another 1.04" early this morning. That puts me at 8.97" for the month and a 60 to 80% chance of rain every day this week, I have a very good chance at hitting 10" for the month. Amazing watching my grass go from brown and crunchy to green and thick in less than 2 weeks.

I wonder if subsidence behind the ongoing coastal convection will dampen storm development for central and eastern NC today. NAM kinda showing that now
It did. We got nothing in New Bern despite a 100% chance. It also kept temps down to the upper 80's. High today was only 88.
-
Hit 94 before a surprise thunderstorm developed right over us. Dropped .61" and had some wind gust into the 30's easily. Also dropped temp down to 74. Sun is back out and temp is climbing once again. Already back up to 84.

I bet RDU hits 105 today. Heat index of 95 at 9 am at my house. We’re going to surpass heat advisory levels I almost guarantee it. Make it stop
It's already 88/80 for heat index of 105 and it's not even 10 am.
-
Topped out at 97 which is our high for the year so far. Heat index topped out at 119. So clouds moved in with the sea breeze and dropped us to 89 at 4pm. Back up to 91 with the sun back out now at 5:30.
-
Not even noon and it is already 92/79 for a feels like temp of 110. The heat wave has begun.
-
Ended up with 1.92" for the day yesterday and got an additional .36" this morning. Currently just after noon it is 85/78 with a feels like temp of 96. Storms are building once again.
Edit: Just picked up an additional .24" giving me a 2 day total of 2.52"

The skies finally opened for us. We have picked up 1.77" with most of that coming after 6 pm. This is our biggest daily rainfall since late May.
-
On and off quick rain showers for much of the day. The storms are moving so quick they barely put down .10" before moving on. Have totaled .33" so far.
-
80% chance of rain today and we got nothing. Line stalled to the west of us. Hot and humid today. High of 94 and dew points in the upper 70's all day.
